Welcome to IFK Göteborg! It’s well known that a harmonic environment is mandatory for success in the football field. A longstanding friendly atmosphere has created this team of the people and even something they call a blue and white family. We are proud to have such a reputation. The fact that IFK has won 18 Swedish championships, explains a part of the clubs great popularity. But that’s not the only reason. The team has always strived to play entertaining and creative football and the club tries to be constructive in all aspects of the work surrounding the club. In our effort to develop the club we also work close to our sponsors. The foundation of our work is of course our common interest in football. A market survey concluded that every other swede is interested in fotball and

that 72 percent want´s to watch fotball live. Another survey conducted in 2006, by the statistic company Sponsor Insight, concluded that IFK Göteborg is the most popular fotball team in Sweden. 19 percent of the swedes prefer IFK compared to 9 percent for the second most popular team, Djurgården. We have lately noticed an increase in interest and expectation and we look forward to meeting this challenge. This is your guide to IFK Göteborg.

CLUB FACILITIES

Kamratgården ■ In January 2012, the new Kamratgården was ready for moving into after a year of construction. In 2000 square-metres spread over two floors is now one of Scandinavium's finest sports/business facilities. On the bottom floor is the reception area, changing rooms and a fullyequipped restaurant kitchen plus a dining room with space for 140 seated guests. On the top floor is the office-area, a gym, a conference room and a re-

laxation room as well as a veranda which looks out over both grass football pitches. Outside the main entrance stands "Kamratstenen", a monument celebrating the successful history of the club. Each player to have made 200 firstteam appearances is commemorated with his name ingraved into the stone. The terrain and environment surrounding Kamratgården is beautiful and the designers have made a real effort to create a building which blends in with the landscape.

Änglagården ■ Is a facility situated in the eastern part of Gothenburg, in an old regiment building. A former large storeroom has been converted in to an indoor pitch with artificial grass. This is where the youth teams practises during the winter. The large number of grasspitches in the area is used during the summer and the autumn. Roger Gustafsson, one of Swedens most experienced and qualified coaches, is the director of the Youth Academy as well as the head of Änglagården. Gustafsson has an impressive list of qualification including five golds in the Swedish first league and participation in the The Cham8

pions League several times during 1990-1995. When Gustafsson started the youth projekt ten years ago, Alex Ferguson, the manager of Manchester United, visited the inauguration. Gustafsson has formulated and introduced his own line of football training. It´s called the ”Secrets of Soccer” and every IFK coach and player has adopted the doctrine. During the fall of 2007 the club opened the first comprehensive school with lessons in football on the schedule. The school is called Änglagårdsskolan. The year of 2007 also marks a milestone in the clubs history when for the first time a girls team started practicing in the blue and white shirt.
