Can you believe it? It's 20 years for LetsStopAIDS! It's not everyday that you get to celebrate such a milestone!
20 years of listening, growth and determination. 20 years of joy, tears, lives lost and new leaders born. Global friendships that will forever leave a mark on how youth leadership is perceived. If you don't know the story -- I founded this beautiful community when I was fifteen. I started it because of the simple idea that "All it takes is one action to make one dream a reality." I got told no; just like many youth do when they have a new idea. I'm glad I didn't listen -- the opportunities, the care for humans (as who they are) and the fresh lens of the world are what makes this organization unique.
LetsStopAIDS does charity differently. Everyone can "play" and learn and gain the skills they need to change the world. We stay genuine in our relationships to ensure they can pivot to succeed. We break away from traditional methods that need
modernization or feedback. But, most importantly, young people have been involved right from Day 0 to present day.
We need your help more than ever. Let's invest in youth leadership. Let's care for humanity. Because, if we don't, many moments like this (of celebration) will be less and less. I can't wait to see you in April!
Over the last 20 years, LetsStopAIDS has brought together youth with our local and global projects; whether it was in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa to urban villages in Tamil Nadu, India, to small towns in Canada (where there is no programming); we have gone about this with our own approach—to be curious and learn together.
