Limited Assistance Representation At Levine-Piro Law, our goal is to make legal representation affordable and accessible to everyone, which is why we offer Limited Assistance Representation in the area of Family Law. What is Limited Assistance Representation (LAR)? LAR is often referred to as the unbundling of legal services. It allows certified LAR attorneys to assist pro-se (selfrepresented) litigants on a limited basis. The attorney and the client need to work together to decide what specific aspects of the case the attorney will be contracted to work on. Many clients just want help filling out paperwork or drafting a motion, while other clients want representation at court hearings. Is LAR available to me? LAR is an option only to those clients dealing with a matter in the Probate and Family court system. Additionally, LAR may not be the right option for you as it requires you to put in a lot of work on your end because your LAR attorney is only going to do what you contract with him/her to do, anything outside of that contractual scope is your responsibility as a pro-se litigant. Benefits of LAR: One of the biggest benefits of LAR is that it allows clients to hire an attorney on a limited basis rather than having to retain the attorney for the entirety of the case. At this time, we offer LAR in the following areas:
