LewAllen Galleries is pleased to present this showcase of works by Michael Allen, an American painter who primarily focuses on the landscape and the organic relationships within. Allen’s depictions of fleeting and transitory moments are a composite of multiple experiences from familiar settings. His works exude a quiet stillness and an intimate sense of place. Derived from a combination of memory, invention, and direct observation, his works seek to present a natural world with subtle elements of a human presence.
Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Michael Allen has been recognized as an accomplished realist painter for nearly three decades. He received an MFA from the University of Delaware and a BFA from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. His works are included in public and private collections including the Lancaster Museum of Art and the University of Delaware, among others. Allen lives and works in South Central Pennsylvania. “The work is not finished until I have the initial experience all over again.” – Michael Allen
