About Me
Im a graphic design student from Sheffield. I chose to do graphics because i wanted to move from traditional art into a more direct path of design. I felt throughout my time at college i have produced some interesting work that shows i am flexible with my design work.

Blog
From the start of college i started a blog for one of my ongoing projects of recording artwork. I enjoy adding to the blog as i think it is a good way of keeping your work in a simple portfolio style display. It is also a good tool when wanting to record artist research as you can quicky have multiple artists work with simple annotations stored.

Architecture This was some of the vector illustrations I created in the first year. By sketching obscure buildings around Chesterfield college I was able to scan them into Adobe Illustrator and demonstrate my skills at vector based artwork by producing these pieces.

Advertising
Throughout college there has been many projects based around advertising and branding. One of the projects we had to communicate a fashion issue in the style of an artist of our choice, i chose the Beggarstaff brothers and thought the final outcome looked authentic. The other projects I chose to res-design ‘EE’s’ logo and create new clothing tags for Fat Face. These projects gave me the opportunity to do one mixed media as well as digital.

Film Posters
I have developed on my software skills over the duration of past projects and feel confident when using Adobe suite. When designing a poster for Star wars i used my photoshop skills to alter levels, contrast and layers to produce a proffesional poster as my final outcome. I also had no problems when it came to designing a movie poster by hand as i felt my painting skills and drawing skills reflect my personal style.

Life Drawing Life drawing is a great skill to have and is very important when studying art and design. I learnt how to draw the different forms in good perspective and scale. I think life drawing has helped me in many projects as it helps you draw with good accuracy aswell as being original in the style of drawing you choose.

Print Making Print making has been one of my favourite subjects as it has given me the opportunity to experiment with simple shapes and dynamic colours. I really liked the most recent print project where the theme was local, i decided to do the Sheffield tram network as i thought it would be a good subject as i could experiment with layers and contrasts.

Type Quotes Typography has been a popular focus in my graphics course and has also been very enjoyable. I prefered digital type, as i felt it gave me more freedom in creating new fonts and layouts. I chose famous artists to influence my quotes like El Lizzitky, David Carson and Saul Bass.
