REFUND POLICY
The purpose of this policy is to provide customer satisfaction in every program and activity offered by the Lewiston Parks and Recreation and to allow for refunds in an efficient and timely fashion when satisfaction cannot be guaranteed or circumstances beyond the Department’s control prevent participation in the scheduled program or event. This policy applies to all leases of the community center; swimming pool admissions, lessons, and passes; and recreation program participation fees. 1. Full refunds will be made on any programs cancelled or altered by Lewiston Parks and Recreation. 2. Full refunds will be made on any one or two session programs with request made within five working days following the event or class. 3. Full refunds will be made in programs with more than two games or classes scheduled with request made prior to the third session. Half refunds will be made on requests prior to the start of the second half. No refunds will be made once the second half of a program begins. 4. However, participants will be encouraged to continue participating if dissatisfied with the program in an effort to eliminate the dissatisfaction when possible. If they are still dissatisfied, the refund will be processed as if it was done at the time of the original request. 5. All participants who request a refund will be asked to fill out a brief voluntary questionnaire to assist Lewiston Parks and Recreation in developing a higher level of service. 6. When possible, Lewiston Parks and Recreation will offer cash refunds at our office upon request. If necessary, due to the refund amount or cash available, refunds may need to be processed through City of Lewiston Finance Department, which makes payments twice a month. 7. Lewiston City Library
Help us to create a new Library for our community! The Library Foundation is pleased and excited to have a building for a new Lewiston Library located downtown at 5th and D Streets! The Library Foundation is busy planning a public fundraising campaign, so look for events and fundraisers to attend and support. A tentative schedule of events include: Macy’s Shop for a Cause on August 27th (Passes are available for $5 and can be requested by e-mail) Nez Perce County Fair, Sept. 22-25 Downtown Open House in October Details on events and opportunities to donate are available at www.lewistonlibraryfoundation.org. The City of Lewiston Library is embarking the first phase of planning for a new downtown location. This move will allow the library to triple its current size and provide better access to books, DVDs, activities, meeting spaces and computers. In addition, the expansion will enable the library and its users to re-imagine what a library for 2011 and beyond should look like: more meeting spaces? More computers? Easier to browse and discover new books? In order to best reflect everyone’s hopes and dreams, the library team needs YOUR input.
Large Print and Audio Books Lewiston City Library has an extensive Large Print collection for you to browse. There are many different titles for you to choose from, including westerns, romance, mystery and best sellers. Audio Books are available for checkout. Audio CDs can be played in any CD player or computer. MP3 CDs can be played on most computers or DVD players. In addition, MP3 CDs can be downloaded to your MP3 Player. The Playaway is an all-in-one audiobook complete with earbuds for your listening pleasure.
