RADIO DESIGN PROPOSAL STANDARDISED COMPONENTS INCLUDED WITHIN DESIGN

ANGULAR.AGGRESIVE.DOMINANT.DIRECTIONAL I FOUND THAT RUGGED CONSISTED OF FORMS THAT WERE ANGULAR WITH SHARP, DEFINED EDGES AND CORNERS LAYERING OF FORMS ADDS TO THE DURABLE LOOK OF PRODUCTS WITH AN DOMINANT APPEARANCE. I TOOK INSPIRATION FROM THIS TO PRODUCE A CONCEPT. I TRANSLATED MY SKETCHES INTO PHYSICAL THREE DIMENSIONAL FORMS USING BLUE FOAM (PHOTOGRAPHS FOUND ON RIGHT). THIS HELPED ME GAIN AN UNDERSTANDING OF HOW SURFACES RELATE TO THEIR NEIGHBOURS. I MOVED AWAY FROM ROUNDED EDGES THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT TO ENHANCE THE AGGRESSIVE LOOK

I USED THE TAPERED PROFILE AS THIS IS A THEME FOLLOWED THROUGHOUT THEIR HISTORY - PROMOTING A STRONG AND TRUSTWORTHY BRAND IMAGE. There are multiple issues associated with current methods of food storage. When placed into cupboards, shelves and inside the fridge produce becomes immediately unorganised. This consists of piling food ontop of or in front of one another - leading to products being hidden. With an increase in food bought weekly many are forgotten along with sell by dates. Fresh fruit and vegetables can be removed from the plastic packaging - holding the use by date, meaning the consumer looses the information. The issues highlighted are as a result of behavioural and social trends in relation to consumption
