HOMÚN - MAYAPÁN

1.-Homun (4hrs) Upon arrival we will meet with the team who will give us an introduction of the regulations and how to use the vehicles. We start the tour crossing the streets of the town, as well as nature trails, visit two tourist spots and three cenotes of unique beauty in Homun (Kanunchen, Balmil, Chelpak, Kaikanche, Santa Cruz, Chulul; in case of large groups Santa Rosa. The cenotes are type cavern, open and semi-open in the middle of nature for the enjoyment of our visitors. 2.-Lunch (optional full tour) At the end of our tour we will go to the community restaurant where we will enjoy a regional dish, fruit water and a typical dessert. 3.-Mayapan (1 hr 30 min) We leave the community of Homun and head to the amazing Mayapan Archaeological Zone, during the tour we will be able to see some buildings such as the observatory or round temple, the masks room, among others. 4.-Return At the end of the amazing tour in Mayapán, we return to the city of Mérida.

THE CORCHITO & PORT OF PROGRESO

1.- Dzibilchaltún The tour start in the archeological zone Dzibilchaltun, the tour is conducted in the area and the guide explains about the prehispanic city, the eco-archeological park and the Museum of the Mayan People, which houses Mayan and Spanish vestiges, from clay objects to paintings, armor and Spanish weapons, several Mayan stelae, stones and carved lintels in excellent condition. It also has a 16th century Franciscan chapel, which is located right in the center of the Mayan city. 2.- The Corchito ecological reserve The nex destinatios to visit is the Corchito, ideal for nature lovers and those who prefer places of tranquility. We will visit the zone of cenotes, ideal for the observation of local ﬂora and fauna. In this paradisiacal place there are cenotes and two eyes of water. 3.- Progreso At the end of the tour in the reserve, we continue to Progreso where you will have time for lunch and a free hour to visit the beach and the boardwalk. 4.- Lunch While on the Malecon in Progreso, you can go to eat at the restaurants located a few meters from the beach. 5.- Return At the end of the visit to our wonderful destination, we return to the city of Merida.

1.- Ek balam The tour starts early in the morning when we travel to the archaeological site of Ek Balam, which means “black jaguar” or “jaguar star”, a precinct composed of several temples, two palaces and a great pyramid in the center of the precinct, where we will learn how our ancestors lived. 2.- Hubiku Cenote After seeing the wonders of Ek Balam, we will head to Cenote Hubiku, a cenote located 12 km from Valladolid, is a subway cenote in which you descend through 115 steps, it is a cenote of crystalline water, deep, sweet and fresh water that awaits you to swim at an average temperature. 3.- Tequila Don Tadeo Museum After enjoying its beautiful cenote, we will continue our adventure at the Tequila Museum, where you can have a tasting of the various ﬂavored liquors of the region based on tequila, and if you wish you can purchase them for a special occasion you can enjoy it. 4.- Lunch After enjoying the beautiful cenote and enjoying the tequila tasting, we will now indulge our palate with a delicious gastronomy, with typical dishes of the region handmade in the oven. 5.- Return At the end of this experience, we return to the city to Merida.

1.- Sotuta of Peón Hacienda We start at the hacienda, the tour is done on wooden platforms called trucks, pulled by mules, with metal wheels that travel on Cauville rails. Extensive henequen plantations welcome us as a preamble to the tour that will allow us to get to know Sotuta de Peón up close. 2.- Processes of the Henequen We continue the tour aboard the trucks which were originally used by the workers. At this point you will be able to witness every step of the transformation process of Henequen (also called Oro Verde in this region), from the plant to the fiber, and from the fiber to the finished product. 3.- Cenote The next point to visit is to go deep into the bowels of the earth and appreciate the extraordinary beauty of the Dzul-há cenote. Cenote that has beautiful rivers of crystalline and alkaline waters, very coveted. You take some time to cool off in the amazing cenote, where you can swim safely in the refreshing waters of the Cenote. Or, if you prefer, they have a huge swimming pool, surrounded by lush gardens of tropical flowers, trees and native plants of spectacular green.

1.- Yaxcopoil Hacienda On arrival at the main room you will ﬁnd the oil paintings of its founders who since 1864 were the owners of the hacienda, you will learn about some activities that took place at that time, while there, they will tell us about the history of the activities that took place in the hacienda, since it was a henequen (knows as green gold) farm. 2.- Kankirixché cenote, Abalá The cenote is a semi-open free-fall cenote, with stairs and a wooden platform to access the water mirror. The water is blue in color and measures 25 meters long by 15 meters wide with a máximum depth of 50 meters and a mínimum depth of 2 meters. In its interior there is a cavern 50 meters deep, with wide underwater galleries and good visibility. Its current use is for tourism, with optimal conditions for swimming, diving and observation. 3.- Magical Town of Maní Then we go to the magical town of Mani (a place where everything happens) stands out for its history and tradition, proof of this is the former convent of San Miguel Arcangel, a place with years of antiquity, in the same way we can do several activities such as visiting the Meliponario, the Mayan solar, its gastronomy, among others. 1.- Chunkanán hacienda Located 5 kilometers to south of Cuzamá, between leafy trees, on the region's horizon north of Yucatán, is the town of Chunkanán which means “at the foot of a plant”, where time seems to have stopped. This former farm is one of the few in which the henequen exploitation was one the activities that sustained the economy of its inhabitants. Nowadays you can ride along the old tracks on a horse-drawn truck and discover two cenotes hidden in the jungle. 2.- The three Cuzamá cenotes The visit to the cenotes is done by means of a truck tour, in which you will be able to observe beautiful vegetation and Henequen plants. The first stop is at the cenote Ucil (small mosquito), it is a subway grotto type, with a depth of 15 meters, it is descended by a staircase and the entrance is somewhat narrow, it is illuminated with artificial light; in it, you can obser ve impressive formations of stalactites, stalagmites and shapes of figures on its walls. The second stop is at the cenote Chac-sinic-ché (red wood ant), with a depth of 27 meters, it is half open type with natural illumination daylight and water colors turquoise blue. 1.- Kampepen Hacienda We will do a guide tour consists of one circuit of 1.2 kilometers, we will visit the former henequen hacienda and its chapel and then learn about the Mayan culture, such as the chultun, altar of the alux, the bagacero cave, cenote and Kixné grotto, which was a ceremonial center. We refresh ourselves in 2 cenotes: chenké (deer cave), is a closed type cenote, with a small grotto and a half moon type water body. It has partial natural lighting supported by artificial lighting. The cenote La Noria (former henequenero well) is one of the cenotes that has most recently been made available to the public. Arriving at the deﬁbradora we will be able to appreciate the different processes of scraping of the leaves, which are carried out to be able to turn the henequen into ﬁber. 1.- Zamná Hacienda The tour consists of a horseback ride through handcrafted trails, surrounded by nature, where you will discover the surroundings of Hacienda Zamná, visiting the henequen plantations and extensive pastures of the Hacienda. We will visit Ovinus to meet the sheep families that live at Hacienda Zamná and learn a little about sheep farming. We will participate in two activities, the first will be to know the traditional solar of the Maya people, with its flowers, medicinal plants, f ruit trees, vegetables, as well as backyard birds and the Xunan Cab bee, where you can enjoy its unique honey and pollen.
