REMEDY WELLNESS / HEALTHCARE FACILITY SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
DESIGN CHALLENGES: Create a fully functional healthcare building for multiple users Must encompass an urgent care, short term rehab, and area of choice Fulfill all healthcare patient necessities, positive work flows for employees, and beneficial areas for family and friends
DESIGN SOLUTIONS: Through the connection of different users, I was able to create three practical floors suiting the needs of every individual Researched and added a pediatric cancer rehab facility to ensure care for children and their families post cancer Created an efficient work flow to reduce healthcare errors Added natural elements such as daylighting, living walls, and therapeutic spaces to keep all user groups happy and generate a more favorable space to heal patients

IN ORDER TO ENSURE A POSITIVE HEALTHCARE ATMOSPHERE, ALL USER GROUPS THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING MUST BE CONNECTED AS ONE. BY INTERTWINING WAYFINDING, LIGHTING, AND OTHER DESIGN ELEMENTS, EACH USER IS ABLE TO USE THE SPACE TO BENEFIT THEIR NEEDS.

DESIGN CHALLENGES: Incorporate Radical Design, a movement in Italy of 1968 Create a unique lighting structure Design a functional yet aesthetically pleasing environment
DESIGN SOLUTIONS: Through the concept of an illusion, the restaurant was transformed by playing with positive and negative space to trick the eye and create a unique environment Specified a Barrisol ceiling system over the lighting to create a distinct look Incorporated multiple seating styles for different generations Designed a specific pathway to benefit employee flow

WHAT IS FUZE? Fuze is a bar cafeteria that represents the idea of fusion while embracing the principles of Radical Design. Fuze is a complete exploration of ideas that come from the concept of an illusion to create a stimulating yet comfortable environment. The goal is to make an efficient and practical place for both employees and customers on a daily basis.

DESIGN CHALLENGES: Create a studio space for Julia, an interior designer, that meets her functional needs and aesthetic preferences Lots of natural light with high rise ceilings Both day and night renderings of the same views in two different material schemes First time creating a building in Revit
DESIGN SOLUTIONS: Incorporated an angled curtain wall that spans from the floor to ceiling for natural daylighting Added a loft to create more space and a private sector for Julia Included many tables for an open work space as well as separate stations to encourage flexibility

About: Rene Gonzalez designed an unforgettable indoor/outdoor venue in Miami, Florida. By designing for both casual and formal, he was able to create a space for a group of coworkers at a lunchtime meeting or a date night on a Sturday night. This flawless design fits the venue in a harmonious fashion and Gonzalez is very successful in this project.

RESEARCH: Capricorn is considered to be the most serious sign of the zodiac and also an Earth sign. Pisces incorporates a lot of creative traits within themselves. They tend to be compassionate, gentle, and wise. Virgo as a Zodiac sign is mainly associated with the Earth. The color grey is paired with this symbol specifically. Aquarius is known for being shy and quiet as well as deep thinkers and highly intellectual. Blue is the main color and represents the element, air, as well.

STUDY ABROAD In fall of 2017, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. I was granted with this amazing experience and traveled to a numerous amount of countries such as Switzerland, Croatia, Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Budapest, and the Netherlands. I grew so much not only as a designer but also as a person and gained a lot of experience through all the architecture and history that fills Europe.

ARTISTIC EXPLORATION I participated in numerous art courses in High School that enabled me to build a strong portfolio through years of work. I took AP 3D art, three years of ceramics, graphic classes, and many photography classes. I was awarded the excellence in arts award as well as having some projects exhibited- one including the Scholastic Art Exhibition.
