WHAT WE’RE ABOUT Fashion forward and aesthetically led, Lexie is the British sportswear brand for women who are on-track and on-trend. Like the Lexie girl, we are unafraid of breaking the rules and always up for a challenge. Ours? Creating fresh, edgy and smart designs that remain performance enhancing every time. Our luxe-sportswear range does this by channelling the unique Britannia vibe; think cool, graphic, and cutting edge. And a whole lot of attitude. Flattering t-shirts, multi-use jackets, hoodies and leggings offer a choice of coverings to ensure maximum versatility; taking you through a range of sports and gym activities to wherever your training takes you, with an active fashion look at all times. The end result is striking and technologically appropriate garments for women at the top of their game; in life and in sport.

“ Anything from horse riding to white water rafting, it’s got to be action packed!”
Strength climbs mountains, L Wit tears them down.
Whip smart and with a natural Lexie edge, our gorgeous model Lianna is also a serious challenge setter... ast September she embarked on a gruelling 10 day trek; climbing Mount Kenya for London based charity Trekstock she helped to raise over £70,000. Not necessarily something you’d associate with a girl who’s graced the pages of Vogue. Having recently also conquered a half marathon and keen to take on the next one, Lianna can often be spotted on the streets of London zipping to and from castings on her bike. Not one to go with the flow, the busy model is just as at ease kicking back in a central London park as she is gracing the catwalks. Unsurprisingly for her, being outdoors is the best way to work out. “Anything from horse riding to white water rafting, it’s got to be action packed!” What’s the next big challenge? “To get myself over to South America and climb, surf and trek.” Her favourite piece of the collection is the Gloria Hoody: “I love it. It’s a piece I’d wear not just to and from training, but it works with my day to day wardrobe too.”

Thursting for more She had The Voice judges on tenterhooks when she performed her blind audition for the hit TV show earlier this year. Progressively making her mark on the gig and festival scene, we managed to nab singer-songwriter Georgia Thursting as she hits the big time.
A
long with tales of sex and seduction, Georgia’s rich soulful voice and jazz influences sound well beyond her twenty years. It’s something that comes naturally. “I get this feeling when I’m inspired, I just have to write. I never sit down and try to force it. When I’m not in the mood it doesn’t happen - I get frustrated with myself.” Performing since the age of 12 and taking the stage at Ronnie Scotts and Live at Leeds Festival, Georgia is humble but not afraid to dream and aim high. Perhaps it’s something to do with her fitness fanatic and personal trainer dad who she’s been hitting the boxing studio with. “I’ve only started but I enjoy it a lot more than the gym. We box, listen to mixes from DJs I’ve seen, and incorporate circuits into our workouts.
Who knew skipping could be so tiring!” Aside from boxing and graduating from Leeds College of Music, the next stop on-route to stardom is finishing and releasing her EP. “There is so much to think about and do in preparation. My band, producer and I have put so much time and effort into sounding as tight as we can and creating something exciting that I can’t wait to get the ball rolling and get people listening.” With her unique style, Georgia chooses the Veronica Short as her favorite piece of the collection. “I used to look at sports clothing and think it looked ridiculous a lot of the time but theses shorts, and the whole Lexie range are fashionable and practical. The shorts design is great and I love the silver panel detail.”
THE ICON COLLECTION Striking, definitive, influential. Enter Lexie’s debut. The graphically striking ‘Icon collection’ brings concise design elements to staple pieces that will see you through a range of sporting activities and beyond. Appealing to the fashionable and sporting woman, functional fabrics give freedom of movement and comfort before, during and after sports. Central to Lexie’s ethos, The Icon steps away from the conventional
garish sports colours, instead defined by a clean palette of blacks, greys and marls, and embellished with reflective highlights. The collection is inspired by the birth of women’s sportswear, the Art Deco period and the female form, visible in the sharp cuts and angular panelling.

Shoot for the stars Getting courtside with county netballer, aerospace engineer and Lexie ambassador, Stacey Warren
I
n between training four times a week with her regional netball club, and climbing the fitness modelling ladder, Stacey still manages to squeeze in study-time for a degree in aerospace engineering. Sounds just like a Lexie girl. Good job she is. The rush of the pit-stop has driven Stacey to London to pursue her dream of becoming a Formula 1 aerodynamicist – she’ll be the one tasked with pushing the F1 cars of the future to their performance limits. But that’s not enough. “I also need to keep focused with my Netball training. So far, my team is unbeaten - I need to keep motivated so that the winning streak continues,” she says. Others might lose their determination half way through a four-year course university course, but Stacey knows it’s about finding a bit of down time
too; whether that’s cooking a mean seafood-paella, taking her dog for a walk along the beach, or settling down with a Batman film and a meltin-the-middle chocolate pudding. Though she can’t sit still for long. With a new-found love for CrossFit – a gruelling mix of cardio, weights and resistance training - she barely pauses for breath: “The next big challenge for me in terms of exercise is getting ready for an eight mile charity assault course.” It’s exactly this balance of commitment and resolve, combined with a healthy outlook on life, which has brought Stacey straight into the fitness modelling spotlight. She turns to a quote by Marilyn Monroe for inspiration: “If you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.” Well, that and a killer drum and bass soundtrack.

Pumped from Britain’s Olympic sporting success, Summer 2012 saw Lexie take on the women’s sportswear world. Designed by women, for women, Lexie is not ‘wear-less, go-faster’; instead providing clothing for those who are as serious about fashion as they are about their performance. And we don’t just talk-the-talk. Led by former Central Saint Martin’s student Lily Rice, our founder and head designer was the first UK graduate to hold a First in Performance Sportswear Design BA. At team Lexie, we are all equally as passionate about our craft and brand. We’ve shown the industry what we’re made of – appearing in Vogue, Drapers and on BBC3’s programme Be Your Own Boss, securing investment from Innocent Smoothies’ co-founder Richard Reed along the way. It’s not all about the winning, but we’re proud to have been recognised as one of Future 50’s top young entrepreneurs, and be a winner of Jacqueline Gold’s (chief executive of Ann Summers and Knickerbox ) WOW Awards.
