Tipsy APP

Case study

Self directed Project 1 - Tipsy APP - Case study Tipsy™ Tipsy™ is an application for iPhones marketed at young adults, it is basically Google maps for drunk people. It works around the phones navigational services and lets the user find the nearest Fast Food establishment, taxi, or a local watering hole. The idea is to simplify everything down to make this App as accessible as possible, so that it could be operated by a small child, or in this case, an intoxicated adult. Large directional arrows usher the user from there current location to the nearest source of food/ taxi’s/Pubs or clubs. The benefit of the large directional arrows is that it eradicates the need for zooming in our out of maps during late night navigation.

Tipsy APP

Along with directional arrows the interface will also show the distance to the target location in meters and also minutes. It will also display the closing times of each of the nearest establishments to avoid the crushing disappointment of missing out on that late night kebab. (Tipsy™ Encourages the responsible consumption of alcohol)

Marketing // Being a nightlife based App, the Marketing campaign focusses on locations key to the Tipsy App’s Target audience.

Beer Coasters //

Stickers are part of a basic graffiti style of advertising, appearing on sign posts and street signs and in locations key to the consumption of alcohol. The beer coasters are an obvious choice when advertising a application that boasts “We can do the drinking so you can do the thinking” Both these options are low cost advertising. The Posters are another simple idea to drawn attention to the brand Tipsy.

The Features Submission The Features are a series of 6 student produced design pieces that will act as a visual representation of the exhibition theme and tie the room together to create a more cohesive display throughout the Graduating Exhibition. The exhibition’s theme is A to B. The driving concept between A to B is to represent our current and past journey as a cohort through our chosen path of study all the way to graduation.

// “This Process” ‘This Process’ is a visual representation of the intellectual and emotional journey I have traveled on my road to graduation. The lines are never straight, and sometimes overlap, representing the multitude of thoughts and choices one might take as they strive to find the steps to achieve a particular end. This is no A to B maze though, there are limitless paths before us.
