My name is Elexis Spencer and I am a recent Apparel Design graduate from the University of Texas at Austin. You read that right- Ut has an apparel design program! Austin has been good to me, but I am ready to expand my horizons and execute my abilities as a fashion designer.

ABOUT ME

My design philosophy illustrates the harmony between clothing and the body. Tasteful skin exposure, flattering silhouettes, and neutral colors are many of the reoccurring principles present throughout much of my work. I plan to assist in moving the industry forwardby challenging boundaries with refinedd design.

BEYOND THE BEATS Bridalwear

BACKGROUND STORY With a stolen-from-the-boyfriend’s closet touch, Beyond the Beats denotes a trend for reception bridalwear. The gorgeous ivory suiting fabric stretches to hug the bride’s figure while allowing effortless, carefree dancing. Featuring invisible pockets in most pieces, along with being fully lined in a luxurious stretch silk charmeuse, this collection was created with comfort and functionality in mind. Beyond the Beats was thoughtfully designed for the bride to confidently enjoy one of the most magical nights of her life!

"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." -Maya Angelou

Ambition

Ballet is one of the most strenuous sports- yet it presents grace and beauty. The harmonious contrast between delicate lace and powerful black leather within this collection represent just that. On a broader scope, Ambition is an ode to women for their physical and mental strength. To all of the strong mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and women alike, this is for you.

How it was made 1/16th" fiberglass rods are assembled to form a ladder- like structure. They are securely screwed into a vinyl strip that creates the waistband for the tutu (two giant hook and eyes are sewn to each end of the vinyl strip). Later, lace is hand sewn, encasing the fiberglass panels. Lastly, box pleated organza is tacked to the bottom of the fiberglass panels.
