HERE TODAY, HEAR FOREVER.
The Lexington Philharmonic’s 2017/18 Season celebrates music as a collaborative force of the past, present, and future, combining iconic masters of the orchestral cannon with living composers of today. Our 56th season opens and closes with fearless virtuosity, in both soloists and ensemble alike. On Opening Night, we unite dynamic voices of regional choirs for Ravel’s brilliant Daphnis and Chloé: Suite No. 2. We highlight the season with a world premiere concerto for Canadian Brass and LexPhil written by Chris Brubeck, and close with Mahler’s groundbreaking magnum opus, Symphony No.5. These masterpieces form a foundation for a vibrant season of programming that will invigorate and inspire the joy of live orchestral music in all.
