2021 Summer Youth Programs

Summer 3v3 Basketball Summer In-Town Basketball League is an organized recreation program to continue the development in basketball skills through game play. Players will be placed onto a team and play two games on their designated days. The league will run for 5 weeks with the top 2 teams playing an additional game to determine the league champion. We will be looking for volunteer coaches to help manage and run teams for all leagues. Please indicate during registration if you would like to help coach. View the table below for separate leagues for boys and girls entering grades 5- 8.

Archery

Archery is an individual sport that provides the opportunity for anyone to do well. The benefits of archery include exercise, mental focus, self-discipline, and social interaction with peers. This program teaches the fundamentals of good form, technique, and how to be safe. Taught by Shawn Bowlby who has 20+ years of experience and has won the national indoor championship 8 times. Archery equipment is provided and will be sanitized and disinfected after every class.

Kids Test Kitchen

Working as a team, we?ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until we?ve prepared the finished dish. At the end of class your aspiring chef will receive the main ingredient, or a sample of the finished dish, and the recipe. Each session arrives with fresh new recipes and ideas to inspire your healthy eater! Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn?t miss out on the fun. We know allergies and can work around them, making sure that everyone is having fun and staying safe.

FC Academy Stop Motion Animation

Students will learn the principles of Animation and produce a short film using objects found around the house and brought to class (suggestions will be given prior to the first day of the program) This course requires a touch screen device with access to the free app Stop Motion Studio (available for iPods, iPhones, iPads, Androids, etc).

Wicked Cool 4 Kids: Lego Engineering

What LEGO challenges do kids love? Our LEGO Engineering program includes STEMbased challenges and free-building. We will build mechanisms that incorporate gears, flywheels, and cams to build amazing contraptions. We?ll crank up the fun using creativity to build with LEGOs in problem solving challenges. Kids can design a spinning eggbeater or create a car to carry LEGO bricks Merge LEGOs with machine power to create a power car, dragster, and dog bot!
