(O.W.L.L.) Lexington’s Older, Wiser, Lifelong Learners

O.W.L.L. was started in 2013, as a result of the Friends of the Lexington Council on Aging committee’s vision for an affordable, accessible, inclusive, collaborative community-based Lifelong Learning Program to serve Lexington seniors aged 60 and over.

$25 for Residents, $50 for non-residents.

Life on Earth needs three things – energy, chemistry, and water. Using discovery-based activities we plan to investigate their occurrence here and in the solar system. The course is for anyone, particularly “nonscience folks” who are curious about the possibility of life existing elsewhere.

Challenges and Problems: South Africa and Its Neighbors in an Era of Populism with Robert Rotberg

This NEW course focuses on South Africa and nearby countries in Southern Africa. It is about contemporary politics and economics, about leadership importance and differences, about educational needs, about corruption as a driving force, and about how population growth will make everyday life difficult. We will also discuss black-white tensions in South Africa.
