Changsha old city streets are mainly living streets, and mixed living and business lanes. D: H value of living streets is around 0.51 and the historical width is below 5 meters; D: H value of mixed lanes is 0.5 to 2, and the historical width is between 5-9 meters. Frame
According to the requirements of different span, the frame is divided.
The wire frame of the affiliated space is simple two-side cross com pared to the wire frame in the main space. It enrichs the space level.
From the perspective of the struc ture, we manage to find a way to make the span larger without adding the height of the structure.
The rope element could satisfy those thinking above. And stability rope ensure the permeability of the side faced to Xiangjiang River.

CONSTRUCTION RESEARCH Wire rope & wave of truss
cross-frame node
excess material
Xiangiang fluid wave
We use two ways to express the wave. One is through the rope cross. Another is through cutting the extra wood. According to the reasonable design, we make sure the rope is only interweaved in the vertical surface and movable at the same time. In order to create the beauty of structure and illustrate the mechanical principle of the frame,we cut the extra part of the frame to create the wave curve and lighten the structure weight.

Traditional wooden structure
We try to find inspiration in Chinese traditional wodden works. In order to enrich the inside space, we design the fishbone-simulated pillar to create this beautiful curve and respond to the concept. 'Tong Pillar'might not be so accurate, but the effect is close to the post-and-lintel construction. Its form is conformed to the change of the wire frame. And it's connected with close side by joggle joint. The close side is a intermediary between wire frame and pillar. And this is the form transformation thinking towards separation line. 42
