Trans-Forming Health and Mental Health Trans people may be resistant in seeking help from health professionals due to discrimination suffered by other trans people. To help prevent this situation health staff should ensure they have access to information and advice from accredited organisations. Health professionals should have a good understanding of gender identity matters and be proactive in communicating to potential trans users that support is available.
