The Lake Houston 10K/5K has put our community on the map as a place to come for health and wellness events. Monthly E-Calendar A Complete Resource for Chamber of Commerce Events & Lake Houston Area Networking Opportunities Monthly E-Calendar Overview
Each month membership of the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce will be sent an E-Calendar listing upcoming Chamber events. Events will be linked to the Chamber website where members can RSVP or add the event to their Outlook calendar. This calendar will be distributed via email to approximately 1,200 email address.
Networking E-Calendar
As a service to the community, the Chamber also compiles a list of area networking events (both Chamber and non-Chamber) called the Networking E-Calendar. The E-Calendar is featured on the Chamber website and a link is sent out in the Weekly Update E-Newsletter, as well as with the Chamber E-Calendar. Area networking groups can submit their functions online. The events will be posted in our Networking E-Calendar and listed in the community events section of the Chamber calendar.

The BizCom Groups were created to meet the unique needs of the businesses and communities in Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood and Summer Creek. Each community hosts a BizCom meeting once several times throughout the year at their local high school for one hour beginning at 11 am. The meetings feature speakers who will address issues or needs specific to their community and also allow time for questions and group discussion. Program Overview
Leadership Lake Houston is a prestigious nine-month program designed to prepare, tool and enable participants to make an impact on the growth and vitality of the community. To accomplish this, the class will attend day sessions, once a month for eight months, to learn the current status and needs of various aspects of the community and will receive training for successfully serving on committees and boards. This partnership offers opportunities to sharpen leadership skills, develop knowledge and focus on issues affecting our community through monthly sessions. The eight day session topics include Quality of Life and Area History, Business and Economic Development, Government, Justice and Public Safety, Education, Healthcare, Social Services and Community Leadership. This special program includes an opening reception, two-day retreat and ropes course, eight day sessions (one day a month for eight months), and a graduation ceremony.

Program Overview
Chamber Seminar Series is an innovative program designed to address critical topics and help prepare participants to meet the ever-changing demands of the 21st century workplace. The program provides individualized growth and development opportunities for entry level to executive leadership covering the entire gamut from “nuts & bolts” to “visionary thinking”. Attending a Chamber Seminar is a tremendous resource for those who are either starting a business, looking to change direction or anybody who wants to learn how to be more successful. There will be a minimum of seven seminars/workshops held throughout the year. Approximately 30-40 individuals are expected to attend each seminar.
