Chamber President and Member Advocate Your investment in the Lake Houston Area Chamber is not only a sound business strategy, but a commitment to the economic progress of our region. As the voice of business since 1923, the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce has been the community’s catalyst for business development and prosperity. The Chamber works hard to create a climate of growth and success for all businesses, regardless of size or industry. There are two primary functions of the Lake Houston Area Chamber: 1. To act as the spokesperson for the business community and translate into action the collective thoughts of its membership. 2. To provide specific services that can be most effectively rendered by a community organization for the benefit of its members and the community as a whole.

Our Board and staff are constantly striving in all that we do to provide our members a return on their investment. Our Mission: The Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce is a cooperative effort of business people to attract new business, support and strengthen the business environment, serve the needs of the members and cooperate with civic leaders and other interested parties to promote community growth. Service Area: Boundaries include the City of Humble and a portion of northeast Harris County and south Montgomery County from New Caney to the north, Huffman to the east, Aldine Westfield Road to the west and Beltway 8 to the south.

According to a research study by The Shapiro Group, Inc. and Market Street Services, when consumers know that a small business is a member of their local chamber of commerce, they are 44 percent more likely to think favorably. Consider the following: Being an integral part of the local chamber boosts your ability to communicate that your company uses good business practices by 29 percent and by 26 percent for communicating that your business is reputable. If a company shows strong participation in its local chamber (e.g., sits on the chamber board), consumers are 12 percent more likely to think that its products stack up better against its competition because he or she infers that the company is trustworthy, involved in the community and is an industry leader. When consumers know that a restaurant franchise is a member of the chamber of commerce, they are 40 percent more likely to eat there in the next few months. When consumers know that an insurance company is a member of the chamber of commerce, they are 43 percent more likely to consider buying insurance from it.
