FORMAT OF MACRO LESSON PLAN Pupil teacher’s Reg. no: 11303001 Subject: life science Topic: Human respiratory system
Class: VII Duration: 25-30 Minutes Date: 14/01/2014
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES(In behavior terms based on Bloom’s Taxanomy): 1) The students will be able to enlist parts of human respiratory systems. 2) The students will be able to draw human respiratory system. 3) The students will be able to explain structures and parts of human respiratory system. 4) The students will be able to identify parts of respiratory system of human. 5) The students will be able to relate some functions of parts of human respiratory system. 6) The students will be able to conclude that respiratory system in human is responsible for respiration SPECIFIC AUDIO-VISUAL AIDS: Chart on human respiratory system, flash card on alveoli, PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE ASSUMED: It is assumed that the students have learnt about basics of various systems present in human body, their characteristic features and some important parts present INTRODUCTION: PUPIL TEACHER’S ACTIVITY
PUPIL’S ACTIVITY
Pupil teacher will ask Mention various systems present in human body.
Pupil will say digestive system, nervous system, skeletal system, circulatory system, etc
Then, the pupil teacher will ask students to solve a riddle on human respiratory system as follow; Respiratory system I am a system in human body. I have two balloons like organ. I take exchange gases in human. I provide oxygen to human body.
METHODS/TECHNIQUES/BOARD WORKS/AV AIDS
Questioning technique
Chart with riddle on human respiratory system Brain storming
Students, today we are going to study human respiratory system
ANNOUNCEMENT OF TOPIC: The pupil teacher will say that today we are going to study about ‘Human Respiratory System’ by writing the topic on the board.
PRESENTATION: TEACHING POINT
PUPIL TEACHER’S ACTIVITY
Human respiratory system
Pupil teacher will ask to enlist parts of human respiratory system.
With the help of chart on human respiratory system, pupil teacher will reemphasis the parts of human respiratory system mentioned by students.
Diagram of human respiratory system
Pupil teacher will ask students to draw diagram of human respiratory system while he draws on the board.
PUPIL’S ACTIVITY Pupil will say lungs, nostrils, wind pipe, bronchi, e.t.c.
Pupils will listen properly and remember these parts
METHODS/TECHNIQUE S/BOARD WORKS/AV AIDS Brain storming lungs, nostrils, wind pipe, bronchi, e.t.c.
Chart on human respiratory sytem
Nasal passage
Trachea (Wind pipe)
Trachea is C-shaped ring like structure stacked one on another
Identify the parts of human respiratory system you know.
Pupils draw ing their notebook Draw diagram of human respiratory system
After finished drawing, labeling is done with brief explanation.
Pupil teacher will ask What do you call for the two opening of nose? What is present in these nostrils? Pupil teacher will explain that nostrils are two opening present in nose and bear hairs and have mucus which traps foreign particles. Nasal passage starts from nostrils which are connected to nasal chamber leading to pharynx linked with trachea.
EVALUATION
Nostrils
Hairs and mucus
Note down in notebook
Nasal passage starts from nostrils which are connected to nasal chamber leading to pharynx linked with trachea. Nostrils are two opening present in nose, bear hairs and have mucus which traps foreign particles.
Trachea is C-shaped ring like structure stacked one on another
Explain nasal passage. What is function of hairs present in nasal chamber?
Describe trachea.
Lungs
What is the respiratory organ of human? How many lungs are present in human? Pupil teacher will explain that lungs are two in number(A pair). Lung located at left position in the chest cavity is known as left lungs and other located in the right position inside chest cavity is right lungs.
Alveoli
What do you think about shape and role of alveoli? With the help of flash card on alveoli pupil teacher will explain alveoli are small sac like structure present in the lungs which are provided with network of blood capillaries and they help in exchange of respiratory gases.
Diaphragm
What is diaphragm? Pupil teacher will explain that diaphragm is muscular floor present below lungs. These helps in respiration
Lungs
A pair of lungs
No response
No response
Lungs: A pair in number. Can be either left lung or right lung.
Flash card on alveoli Alveoli: Small sac like structure present in the lungs which are provided with network of blood capillaries and they help in exchange of respiratory gases.
Diaphragm is muscular floor present below lungs. These helps in respiration
What is human respiratory organ? Summerise what we have studied about lungs.
What is role of alveoli?
What is diaphragm? Where is it located? What is the function of diaphragm?
RECAPITULATION: The pupil teacher will say that today we have studied about human respiratory system. We have learnt how to draw human respiratory system and labeling of parts of it. We also discussed about functions of some parts of it. Recapitulation question; 1. Enlist various parts of human respiratory system 2. Explain human respiratory system by labeling parts of human respiratory system. 3. What is the respiratory organ in human? HOME ASSIGNMENT: Draw a well labeled diagram of human respiratory system and colour it.
