Hempstead, NY - February 1st, 2014 - The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc.’s Business Card & Breakfast Series featuring the Daily News Digital Solution showed Small Business Owners how to Grow Business Online. The special guest speaker at the February 27, 2014 Business Card Exchange was Mike Flaminio Vice President of Daily News Digital Solutions. The event showed business owners how to optimize their business presence online using landing page, search engine optimization, and the use of social media, and mobile business applications. The event was filled to capacity with small business owners and professionals from around the New York region.
LIAACC’s Day of Networking & Pampering is A Huge Success! On April 3, 2013 the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. hosted its monthly Business Card Exchange and “Breakfast Series” which included Networking, Pampering and a free photo shoot. The Business Card Exchange featured guest speaker Lorrette Farris, President and CEO of iBossinc.com – discussing “Raising Capital in the New Capital Market”. “The Day of Networking and Pampering was a huge success, attracting a wide variety of Small Business Owners, Professionals, Corporate Leaders, and Nonfor-Profits in the New York metropolitan area. Baldwin, NY - On August 9, 2014 the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. completed its first series of Minority Women Business Enterprises Certification workshops at the Baldwin Library. The instructor for the workshop series was Charlene Jackson Thompson of the Baldwin-based firm Thompson Economic Development Services. A special award presentation was given to Retired Brigadier General George A. Jones for pioneering Minority Business Development on Long Island.

On October 23, 2014 Vanessa Best, CEO of Precision Healthcare Consultants, was selected and joined the elite group of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business in Long Island. The gala was held at the legendary Crest Hollow Country Club. The Steering committee for Long Island Business News' 15th Annual Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business program selected Vanessa Best as a member of the 2014 class of Long Island's Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business, which recognizes the significant contributions of women professionals to the region's economy and to the communities in which they do business. December 10th, 2014 LIAACC hosted its Annual Holiday Celebration, Awards & Toy Drive at the NYCB Theatre of Westbury V.I.P. Lounge
Long Beach, New York - December 22, 2014 - The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (LIAACC), FidelisCare, and MLK Center in Long Beach hosted a Joint toy drive at the Martin Luther Center in Long Beach which attracted over 450 residents to the center. Several hundred toys were distributed to the families with children in attendance. WBLS and Hot 97 entertained the crowd with family friendly music and face painting was available to add holiday cheer. Santa Claus came just in time as the toys were distributed. Frozen, Spiderman and Dora the Explorer also stopped by to the delight of all in attendance. Blommingdale’s, Health First, and Queens County DA’s Office also contributed to this year’s toy drive.
