Hobbledown Peacocks and Bird of Prey Join the gang!
Come down and meet Kya, the newest addition to the Hobbledown team. The young Harris Hawk has already proven very popular with the visitors during the walk rounds of the adventure park.
Deputy head leader at Hobbledown Melanie Newson, who previously worked at London Zoo will be training Zya to carry out the aerial displays, for which these Hawks are famous for. These demonstrations are to start in October so we hope as many of you will come and enjoy the experience.
At Hobbledown we are currently busy building an enclosure for Kya, having her in the park will add to the 100+ animals Hobbledown already have.
We have three new peacocks at our farm, and thanks to all your suggestions we now have 3 fantastic names for them!
Among the different names we were given were Bluey, Blue and India (peacocks are the national birds of India), Petunia, Paddy, Penelope, Peter, Lillibeth, Liberace, Elizabeth an feathers.
Due to Team GB's success in the Olympics we had the names of GB, Jess, Victoria, Jess and Mo all come up.
In the end however we decided with the following names, Hera and Rani for the girls, and Priscilla Pimpertail for the boy. We want to say thank you for everyone that helped us come up with the names for these fantastic animals.
