1. Before you think about booking your holiday, do some research on your resort and get other brochures. See what they have to say, check out TV stations to see if they have any information on anything that could affect your holiday.

2. Once you have booked your holiday, make sure that you get your documentation. Carefully check them over for any errors, and if you do encounter any problems make sure you speak to your travel provider sooner rather than later.

5. Check health requirements before you travel. Make sure that you have time to receive inoculations - take some time to prepare a medical kit to take with you for any medical emergencies, and make sure that if you need regular medication you take enough supplies. If you do become ill on your holiday, seek medical attention straight away, and don't be afraid to call your GP for further assistance. 6. Prior to when you need to travel (we recommend several days), check your travel documents to make sure that you understand where you need to be and what time you need to be there. Also check that you comply with all baggage requirements of the airline.
