MILLIONS OF HATHI TRUST TITLES NOW INCLUDED IN FIND IT SEARCH RESULTS Find IT searches now include results from the HATHI trust e-book collection. Any search conducted using FIND IT will now include these titles whether the library has them in print or electronic format. Refine your search results to books/ e-books by using the filters on the left hand side of the results screen. (Full txt online and book/e-book) Additionally FIND IT search results already include e-book titles from Project Gutenberg, and E-brary and EBSCOhost. Watch out for the ‘online’ icon in the results page.

WHAT IS THE HATHI TRUST? HathiTrust is a partnership of academic & research institutions, offering a collection of millions of titles digitized from libraries around the world. HathiTrust Digital Library is a digital preservation repository . It provides long-term preservation and access services for public domain and in copyright content from a variety of sources, including Google, the Internet Archive, Microsoft, and in-house partner institution initiatives. Collections digitized include the ‘English Shot Title Catalogue’, Islamic Manuscripts, Patent Indexes, Incunabula (Universidad Complutense, Madrid). Flow accounts integrate with Find IT! Log into flow, search Find IT, save your results to the saved folder, use the export as Refworks option to integrate your results into your flow account. This works for ten titles at a time. RETURN YOUR BOOKS ON TIME TO ENSURE ACCESS TO YOUR EXAM RESULTS Before each set of exam results are made available you need to return any material you have on loan from the library. It is your responsibility to check that your library account is clear or that items are not overdue by logging on through the library website https:// library.ittdublin.ie/patroninfo~S0. IF you have OVERDUE library material you will not be able to view exam results online and you will be blocked from Institute services (Moodle/network). You will receive a statement of checked out items to the e-mail address registered in your Moodle profile. Please check this statement and return all overdue material to the library straight away. CREATING A REFWORKS FLOW ACCOUNT Go to http://flow.proquest.com/ Enter your e-mail address i.e. johnny.bloggs@ittd.ie or mary.smith@gmail.com etc. Enter your institution. This must be Institute of Technology Tallaght. Add the ‘Save to Flow’ button to your browser by clicking and dragging it to where you want it.

Generate bibliographies, in the appropriate style: Harvard, APA, MLA, Chicago.
Harvard is the recommended style for ITT Dublin.
Working in Word With Flow for Word, you can cite references in a manuscript with just a click and watch your paper format instantly including in-text citations, footnotes and your bibliography. The utility installs a Flow tab in the MS Word ribbon or you can access it from the References tab in Microsoft Word. Working online or offline is seamless – no need to be connected to the internet – and you can share documents between the Windows and Mac versions of Flow for Word seamlessly. SET GOOGLE SCHOLAR PREFERENCES Set your library preferences in Google Scholar to Library ITT Dublin to include access to subscribed library resources where they are included in your search results. Otherwise you will not get access to these materials, or will be prompted to pay for them. Log on to your library account to assure seamless linking from Google Scholar to resources.

The library has set up a help channel on You Tube, this channel includes three initial help videos with voice over instruction on the following topics:
How to access exam papers Search for, finding, and logging on to access exam papers
How to set up access to library subscriptions on Google Scholar Logging on to Google, setting your Google Scholar Library Preferences, and finding full text articles to access
You are now ready to search the Google Scholar index, with access to resources the library subscribes to, without being prompted to pay for access.

You only need to set up your preferences once, however you will need to log on to your library and Google accounts every time.
More help videos will be made available over the course of the year. Please feel free to contact the library to suggest topics that should be included.

The library offers supports for students and staff. Each school has been assigned a liaison librarian, who is available to assist with research queries, and can facilitate library skills training. Additionally the librarians have created subject portals, which offer links to subject relevant databases and web sites. INCREASED LIBRARY ACCESS FOR ITT DUBLIN STUDENTS AND STAFF ITT Dublin students and staff can now visit the libraries at IT Blanchardstown and DIT by simply producing their ITT Dublin ID cards. They may use the study spaces and print materials at any of the libraries for reference purposes. Whilst there, they may also access ITT Dublin online library resources by connecting to the Eduroam service on their own mobile device, laptop, mobile phone etc. and logging on to the ITT Dublin library site.
Books cannot be borrowed and libraries may have to refuse admission during busy times (such as exams) but that will be kept to a minimum.
In return, ITB and DIT students and staff can visit ITT Dublin library. The same arrangements apply as above.
