Design your modern living room

The centrepiece of every living room is the sofa; and one thing is not up for debate: sofa needs to be cosy and absolutely comfortable. To give a warm feel, I chose to play around with a set of neutral-coloured linens that also give off an elegant feel.
If the general colour palette in your room is already neutral and earthy, you can give it a splash of bold colour with an accent cushions or carpet. Your choice of cushions could either blend in and match with the couch, or add a bit of a loud contrast. I used comfortable & cozy armchairs to accentuate the general feeling of confident comfort through the use of beige color that is easy on the eye and instils calmness.
If you prefer to feel more warmth in the room, adding wood is always an easy win. Wooden sculptured coffee tables and a matching TV console are a must have and an easy way to infuse warmness into any interior space.
Carpet selection depends on the overall furniture scheme and your particular vision, but also on the type of flooring you have. For warm floor colours, I would throw in an effortless beige, brown or such earthy hues. Art pieces always add that dash of personality to every space, and it does not need to be expensive to fit in and look good. The artwork could be anything you like or find special; it should be something that you would always enjoy looking at, or a meaningful piece with a story to tell. I have displayed art that does not belong to renowned people because these hold a dear place in my heart.
Natural light is a very important element of a healthy living room. While letting in the light is not necessarily an easy thing, doing it properly fully expands a space and makes an environment simply ‘click’ and come to life. This might be as simple as taking down heavy drapery and opting for something translucent adorned with accessories to add that finishing touch, making your space breathe with flair.
A natural progression of a living room is a tasteful, yet functional dining area. I have created an influx of colours that add to the elegance while still speaking to the simplicity of the whole space combined; the result is a flow that is easy on the eye, yet still reflecting character.
I have chosen a neutral palette for the walls, which is always the easiest thing to change. As for the floors I would always go for simple, natural, and impeccable uniform finishes that can be either dark or light wood, terrazzo, or similar.
Design does not have to be complicated, it just needs to speak your language and always welcome you to your chosen space.
