Welcome to Fashion Shop by Manuel Fernandez, a groundbreaking concept store that brings together the realms of fashion, art, and sustainability for the first time in Montenegro. What sets Manuel's concept apart is that Fashion Shop is the first retail outlet in Luštica Bay specifically addressing women deeply connected to issues of sustainability, technology, and social responsibility. It is an amalgamation of wisdom and experience, infused into a collection that aims to redefine our perspective on these enduring social issues.
Fashion designer and artist Manuel Fernández, a pioneer in economic, social, and environmental sustainability on an international level, launched his career over 35 years ago. However, his most impactful work came 20 years later with the creation of the Fashion Art Institute—a fusion of fashion and art that serves as a platform to raise awareness about sustainability values within a community that has the power to respond through fashion and art. Fashion Art serves as a vehicle to introduce future generations to Fernández's legacy and the work of other artists and leaders committed to sustainable development.
Through Fashion Art, Fernández has enriched the fashion sector by offering workshops on sewing, recycling, and art, collaborating extensively with groups at risk of social exclusion, including victims of trafficking, prisoners, and women from marginalized communities. Additionally, they have collaborated with more than 20 NGOs. The objective is to transform decades of experience in art and fashion into a movement that contributes to the betterment of today's society.
So why Montegro and Luštica Bay? Montenegro is the 3rd youngest country in the world, with it’s constitution only appearing in 2006 - a great challenge for the country itself. But it’s from this youth that the values of Manuel Fernández have a chance to strengthen sustainability, technology and social commitment using the medium of fashion and art - a commitment that will later lead to the inception of a Fashion Art Institute by Manuel Fernandez within Luštica Bay itself.
