The United States Air Force was established on September 18, 1947 with the passage of the National Security Act of 1947. However, the use of military airplanes and aeronautic instruments was implemented decades before. The long history of military air support and superiority is celebrated each year on September 18. Here are some ideas to celebrate with your favorite active duty or retired Airman this year:
