This new year is bringing a lot of new and fun activities to Maxwell AFB and Gunter Annex!

Have you heard about the new laser tag recreation complex at Gunter coming soon? Our expert staff is creating a fantastic facility with zombie apocalypse-themed laser tag that groups can reserve or anyone can play during open-rec hours. It’s the perfect place for Unite events and squadron fun, as well as birthday parties or weekend fun!

Plans are also underway at both our off-base outdoor recreation properties, Lake Martin in Dadeville, AL and Mid Bay Shores in Niceville, FL - specials are going on all winter long. Both properties are under new management and making great headway with overall park beautification efforts and bathhouse renovations at Lake Martin. As the weather warms up in the spring, make it a day trip or book a getaway with us. Active Duty military get the added benefit to make reservations up to six months in advance, all other DoD ID card holders are four months in advance. Reservations book quickly so plan your getaways now!

Outdoor Recreation and Information, Tickets and Tours is in a new location at 1461 March Street - the same building as Range 42. Stop by and see their new digs where you can check out camping gear, kayaks, grab food at our grill, play TopTracer, and check out party supplies all in one stop shop! The 2023 Disney and Universal Studios tickets are available now through the ITT office there as well. Military members and civilians can conveniently purchase tickets on base and receive the military discount.

Check the calendars of events and see what great entertainment the Maxwell Club has planned this quarter. Make your reservations early for the Valentine’s Dinner and enjoy a romantic evening with delicious food prepared by our new chef, Chef Jarvi. Dueling Pianos will be back in March and promise a fun interactive night of singing and music. Be on the lookout for our firstever Mardi Gras parade as well.

For families with children, the Child & Youth Centers at Maxwell and Gunter offer great programs for school-age children up to age 18. Check out the membership opportunities, with programming and sports participation, and join the fun!

We are proud to bring new programs, services and activities to our military community at Life at the MAX. Let us know what you think!

Respectfully, Lt Col. Jennifer Stewart, Commander 42d Force Support Squadron
