HOW DOES YOUR BUSINESS HELP BUSY MUMS WHO ARE PARTY PLANNING? At Plush Kids our parents enjoy the fun stuff while we do all the behind the scenes leg work. Our staff not only provide visually the perfect party we also allow the parents to enjoy the day so they can then host and mingle with the guests and truly enjoy and cherish the moment of their little ones party. WHAT UNIQUE SERVICE OR OFFERING DOES YOUR BUSINESS PROVIDE? We offer a full planning and day of coordination as well as styling and setup. Our bespoke events will come with a floor design & vision board and for our larger events & Christenings our clients have access to our online planner where they can amend seating plans, meal requests and keep RSVPs in check. We can even organise a timeline run sheet for our more extravagant events. With our designer pop up parties we are constantly bringing new props onto the scene to make them modern and different. WHAT ‘ON TREND’ PARTY PRODUCT/SERVICE ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS LOVING AT THE MOMENT? With summer approaching our girls are going crazy over Mermaids coinciding with pool parties. Our boys are loving the Safari/Jungle themes. We have seen a trend that parents are opting for the “Half” theme. Due to Covid and lockdowns many birthdays were cancelled or postponed. Those that postponed are going with the 1 1/2, 2 1/2 parties which are really cute.

Lola Dutch

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT? The inspiration for the shoot is DayDream Society’s Lola Dutch tableware collection. The collection is inspired by the Lola Dutch book series co-authored by Kenneth Wright and Sarah Jane Wright.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP? There were a number of unique features of this setup. The original illustrations for the book were used with permission to create beautiful designs used for different elements of the party, such as for the backdrops, signage, cake, cookies, macarons, cupcake toppers, and favor box decals. The kids’ serpentine tables and bow chairs used were unique and added the luxury touch for the look aimed for. We also had other unique pieces, including beautiful crane floral sculptures, cool vintage furniture to match some of the furniture illustrations in the book series and a vintage-style gold swing for the cake display.

One of the major styling tips for providing a memorable party experience is to begin with a distinctive theme, including a unique color palette, or to put a unique twist to a popular theme. Use a space that works for your theme or creatively make the space work for your needs. It is important to weave in as many details as possible related to your theme. The details matter—big or small! Lastly, give yourself enough time to plan, think outside the box, be flexible, tell a story, and enjoy the creative process.
