Tremendous growth in the size of law firms, intensified competition for legal work, practice specialization, demographic changes and new technology have impacted all lawyers. These important issues inspired me to reflect on how law is practiced by lawyers and experienced by their clients. The business of law has always facinated me. During my 15 years as publisher of the South Florida Business Journal, I heard the most fantastic stories from my friends who were lawyers. While there are numerous awards in other industries, I felt it was time to honor the success of legal innovators and recognize outstanding achievement in law. Therefore, it is my privilege to introduce the Leaders In Law Awards.
