FANTASY PIG OF THE WEEK
u Hugh McCluggage had a ridiculous last quarter racking up 78 points to top the round with a whopping 141. It was pure Piggery, no other way to describe it. The hard-working Lion continued his good run of form over the past month with 26 possessions and 10 tackles, but it was his four goals that took his score to a season high. It was yet another example of a midfielder taking full advantage of the Eagles match-up.
HONOURABLE MENTIONS
u After a quiet previous week, Demons running machine Ed Langdon more than made up for it with 39 possessions and eight marks for 140 – a lazy 102 up from his round seven performance. In an unexpected trend, Tigers forward Tom Lynch has made yet another appearance on the scoring leaderboard after smashing out his second 140 in a row on the back of an 11-mark and six-goal performance. Blues star Charlie Curnow kicked his own bag of six goals to score 138, while Dockers star Andrew Brayshaw pumped out a handy 134 for his coaches.

CASH COWS OF THE WEEK
MICHAEL BARLOW MEDAL VOTES – ROUND 8
5TYSON STENGLE
GEEL, FWD – 114 u The Cat recruit is rocketing up the leaderboard after again displaying his high ceiling. He continued his run of hot form with a season-high 114 from 20 possessions, six marks, five tackles and three goals.
4NIC MARTIN
ESS, FWD – 91 u The Bomber star in the making will be staying in teams for a long time after backing up the previous week’s 91 with a score of 104. He is making the ‘premium’ forwards look silly.
3BEN HOBBS
ESS, MID – 95 u After disappointing his coaches the previous week, the big-bodied youngster made the most of his increased opportunities for the decimated Bombers, receiving plenty of midfield time.
2PADDY McCARTIN
SYD, FWD/DEF – 86 u Welcome to the rookie-priced party, Paddy. Unfortunately, very few coaches had access to his score last week, but at least it kick-started his cash generation.
1NICK DAICOS
COLL, MID/DEF– 83 u Despite a pre-game illness and rumours he’d be rested, the young Pie star did it again with another superb performance, again justifying his spot in our teams moving forward.

BUY HOLD SELL
DARCY CAMERON
COLLINGWOOD
FWD/RUC, $538,000
u The Pies No. 1 ruck is a bargain pick following back-to-back hundreds since Brodie Grundy went down with injury. He had 14 hit-outs, but did his best work around the ground, collecting 21 possessions, six marks and six tackles in his 112.
GREG CLARK
WEST COAST EAGLES
MID, $250,000
u The Eagles don’t have much to celebrate, but can look forward to their mature-age recruit returning. He made an outstanding debut with 110 before missing his second game due to health and safety protocols. Has a BE of -31.
PATRICK CRIPPS
CARLTON
MID, $858,000
u I hear non-owners talking about not wanting to jump on board such a popular selection, but bite your pride, you need to ride the big bull. If you discount the game where he was injured, he has just one score under 120 and that was 112.
ALSO CONSIDER:
Clayton Oliver, Mitch Duncan, Dayne Zorko.
WARNIE
WARNE DAWGS ROUND 8 – 2050 PTS
u If you haven’t already, it’s time to have a good look at your bye structure and act accordingly. It’s important to have a good balance over the three-week period and have as few red dots as possible.
ROUND 8 – 2075 PTS
u Although it is a time where we should prioritise removing our rookies from the ground, some underperforming premiums are walking a fine line and I may trade them out first for a reliable replacement.
ROUND 8 – 2105 PTS
u As I flagged last week, keep an eye on who is playing the Eagles. Hugh McCluggage went whack on them in the last quarter last week with 78 so imagine what the Dees’ big boys are going to do.
JOSH DUNKLEY
WESTERN BULLDOGS
DEF/MID, $937,000
u The Bulldogs star didn’t benefit by the absence of skipper Marcus Bontempelli, recording his worst game of the season. The best Fantasy player in the game before round eight, he hadn’t dropped under triple figures for the season.
PADDY McCARTIN
SYDNEY SWANS
DEF/FWD, $371,000
u Returning from concussion, the defender didn’t miss a beat, playing his best game of the season. Just when it looked like his cash generation had dried up, the popular bench option scored an impressive 86. Has a BE of just 26.
JAKE BOWEY
MELBOURNE
DEF, $558,000
u The talented young Demon hasn’t quite hit the heights in the past couple of weeks with scores of 69 and 52. But he couldn’t have a better fixture in the next two games – against the Eagles and Roos.
ALSO CONSIDER:
Tim Taranto, Isaac Heeney, Josh Kelly.
ROY
DESTROY
ZAK BUTTERS
PORT ADELAIDE
FWD/MID, $636,000
u Despite a great match-up this week, the justification for trading out the Power DPP is still there. The reality is he has a three-game average of 57. He has a BE of 107 this week and the consistency just isn’t there.
JASON HORNE-FRANCIS
NORTH MELBOURNE
MID, $509,000
u The young Roo has shown outstanding consistency in his first season, but the time is right to upgrade him for a premium. He has failed to reach 60 in three of his past four games. That leaves him with a BE of 74.
MATT ROWELL
GOLD COAST SUNS
MID, $592,000
u After an impressive effort against the Pies the previous week, Rowell had a quiet game against the Swans. He played 84 per cent game-time for just 15 possessions, no marks and 58 points. He has a BE of 77.

Josh Rachele, Stephen Coniglio, Corey Durdin.
