FANTASY PIG OF THE WEEK

u After a couple of quiet weeks, the big fella knew what his coaches needed and he delivered. Max Gawn dominated against the Swans, playing a massive 97 per cent game-time and stuffing the stats sheet with 28 possessions, nine marks, three goals and 30 hit-outs for a round-high 149. A phenomenal effort for a ruckman. Given the ease of taking a loophole captain through the byes, a few switched on coaches took advantage of the double shot, handing the Dees skipper their vice-captain responsibilities and they were rewarded. the Hawks that included 26 possessions and nine marks. Docker Andrew Brayshaw was at his best, racking up 39 touches, four marks and six tackles for 131 in a dominant performance.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

u Touk Miller celebrated his milestone game from start to finish against the Roos, racking up 32 possessions to complement his eight tackles and five marks on his way to an impressive score of 135. The Suns star was another popular captain choice who delivered in a time of need. Darcy Cameron confirmed why the Pies FWD/RUC is in Roy’s Rollin 22 after a thumping score of 132 in a friendly match-up with

CASH COWS OF THE WEEK

MICHAEL BARLOW MEDAL VOTES – ROUND 12

5NICK DAICOS

COLL, DEF/MID – 109 u After losing his spot at the top of the leaderboard, the Pies ball magnet turned it on against the Hawks to ensure he is sitting back up the top as equal leader. He had the ball on a string last week and looked like he has been in the system for years, collecting 36 possessions and taking three marks.

4GREG CLARK

WCE, MID – 71 u After three scores of 60 following a whopping 110 on debut, the mature-age Eagle can think himself lucky getting four votes for just 71. He had 11 possessions and an impressive 10 tackles.

3PADDY McCARTIN

SYD, FWD/DEF – 68 u Talk about stepping up in the bye rounds. The Swans intercept defender comfortably outscored his average with his 13 touches and six marks.

2TYSON STENGLE

GEEL, FWD – 65 u Not a huge outing by the impressive Cats recruit, but his 12 possessions and six marks were enough to move him up the leaderboard.

1JASON HORNE-FRANCIS

NM, MID – 63 u The Roos’ No. 1 man put in a serviceable effort for his coaches with 15 possessions, two marks, four tackles and a goal.

BUY HOLD SELL

JOSH KELLY

GWS GIANTS

MID, $908,000

u The hard-running Giant is one of the form players of the competition and is ripe for the picking after completing his bye last week. He has four scores over 120 in his past five games, including a pair of 134s, and has a BE of 100 leading into a dream match-up with the Roos.

ZACH MERRETT

ESSENDON

MID, $790,000

u The ball magnet is the under-priced premium to keep in mind this round. Although he hasn’t hit the heights we have become accustomed to, to think he is under $800K makes him an option.

JACK SINCLAIR

ST KILDA

DEF/MID, $819,000

u The hard-working Saint is is in red-hot form the past three games with scores of 110, 111 and 133. His value is undeniable with a BE of just 72 and he seems to have really stepped up in the absence of Jack Steele.

ALSO CONSIDER:

Mitch Owens, Sam Durdin, Sam Walsh.

WARNIE

WARNE DAWGS ROUND 12 – 1896 PTS

u Trade in players who have completed their byes. So keep an eye out for value selections that you want for the remainder of the year. Obviously, the guy I’m looking at is Zach Merrett.

ROUND 12 – 1854 PTS

u Stick to the plan by trading out the fattened cash cows and bringing in a premium fresh off their bye. The main upgrade target has to be Josh Kelly, who looks set for a big second half of the season.

ROUND 12 – 1906 PTS

u Max Gawn came off a quiet couple of weeks to pull off one of the most dominant performances of the season. He is definitely in captain calculations with a big match-up on Monday.

NICK DAICOS

COLLINGWOOD

MID/DEF, $603,000

u With many planning on trading the rising star as his bye closes in, it may be worth reconsidering if he has another good game. He was sensational against the Hawks, scoring 109 from a massive 36 possessions.

ISAAC HEENEY

SYDNEY SWANS

FWD/MID, $640,000

u Although frustration with the Swan star is justifiable, prioritising the removal of rookies should be done first. If you are in a luxury trade position, the move is justifiable, with Heeney having a three-game average of just 72.

ADAM TRELOAR

WESTERN BULLDOGS

MID/FWD, $826,000

u There are many looking to offload him after his 77 and with the coming bye. But this kind of move won’t help teams get any better over the byes and it will just benefit coaches for the one week, as opposed to long-term.

ALSO CONSIDER:

Jarrod Witts, Tom Stewart, Jake Lloyd.

ROY

DESTROY

BAILEY SMITH

WESTERN BULLDOGS

MID, $872,000

u How quickly things change. Just a couple of weeks ago the star midfielder was leading the competition for average and his impending FWD status made him a ‘must-have’. He will now miss two weeks for a headbutt.

SAM DE KONING

GEELONG

FWD/DEF, $433,000

u After amazing service, including a price rise of $243K since the start of the year, it’s time for the impressive Cat defender to go as part of an upgrade trade. After failing to reach 50 in the first six rounds, he has grown before our eyes, as has his value.

PADDY McCARTIN

SYDNEY SWANS

FWD/DEF, $460,000

u The big Swan has been one of the great stories of the season, and also one of the great slow burn cash cows. Maybe a cash grab to Blues recruit Sam Durdin if he is named to replace Jacob Weitering. ALSO CONSIDER: Robbie McComb, Greg Clark, Cooper Stephens.
