He spent a mammoth 91 per cent of the game on the ground and absolutely destroyed his direct opponents.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

u Luke Ryan is owned by only four per cent of Classic coaches, but there would have been plenty of Draft coaches cheering the Docker defender on as he won them the match-up. He had his best score for the season with 151 from 32 possessions and an impressive 15 marks. Clayton Oliver took full advantage of his match-up with the Pies and looked the best he has since returning from injury with 42 touches and eight tackles for 139, while Toby Nankervis and David Swallow popped up from nowhere to score 137 and 131 respectively. Of course, Rory Laird wasn’t too far behind after kicking two goals in the first five minutes to eventually end up with another big score of 127.

CASH COWS OF THE WEEK

MICHAEL BARLOW MEDAL VOTES – ROUND 20

5ELIJAH HOLLANDS

GCS, FWD/MID – 118 u We waited all year to see the Suns young gun and we saw why the anticipation was so high in his third game. He absolutely dominated against the Hawks with 23 touches, nine marks and a goal to top the rookie scores.

4NICK DAICOS

COLL, DEF/MID – 108 u This bloke is a dead-set star. He continues to put a gap in the field on the leaderboard after another dominant performance, which included 31 disposals, four marks and five tackles.

3BRYNN TEAKLE

PA, FWD/RUC – 86 u In his first game back since injury and just the second of his career, he certainly had a crack. He had 21 hit-outs, but it was his tackling pressure that was most impressive, recording eight.

2JOSH WARD

HAW, MID – 84 u The young Hawk followed up his 107 last week with 20 possessions, three marks and four tackles.

1MARCUS WINDHAGER

STK, MID/FWD – 78 u A solid all-round effort by the Saint with 17 touches, three marks and six tackles.

BUY HOLD SELL

ROWAN MARSHALL

ST KILDA

FWD/RUC, $812,000

u The big Saint showed again why he was the No. 1 trade target in the past three weeks. Enjoying the sole ruck role, he has scored 108, 163 and 118. He scored 118 against the Cats with 21 touches and 37 hit-outs.

DAYNE ZORKO

BRISBANE LIONS

DEF/MID, $589,000

u The veteran remains the bargain of the week. Since returning from injury, he has scores of 86, 97 and 94. He has a BE of 59, which reinforces his value given his three-game average of 92.

LUKE PARKER

SYDNEY SWANS

FWD/MID, $813,000

u The star Swan is one of the form players in the competition with a lowest score of 97 in the past six weeks and a three-game average of 116. He brings that form into the easiest match-up for midfielders in the competition – the Pies who struggled to contain Clayton Oliver (139) and Christian Petracca (120) last week.

ALSO CONSIDER:

Bailey Smith, Aaron Hall, Max Gawn.

WARNIE

WARNE DAWGS ROUND 21 – 2239 PTS

u Braydon Preuss is the gift that keeps on giving and I still blame the Saints for naming Tom Campbell two weeks ago. It’s silly season at the selection table – look at the Cats’ late changes last week.

ROUND 21 – 2188 PTS

u So much for relying on the big midfielders to get you over the line. I lost my elimination final where Touk Miller, Zach Merrett, Jack Steele, Callum Mills and Tom Mitchell were all unique and didn’t hit 100.

ROUND 21 – 2386 PTS

u As far as captain selection goes, Rory Laird is doing all my work for me. He is the form player of the competition and on paper has an easy match-up this week against the Roos.

ZACH MERRETT

ESSENDON

MID, $955,000

u After the previous week’s heroics where he scored a round-high 172, the Bomber ball magnet broke a six-week run of 118+ scores to put a dagger in the Grand Final aspirations of many coaches with just 55.

CALLUM MILLS

SYDNEY SWANS

MID, $916,000

u The hard-working Swan had been in outstanding form with scores of 148, 132, 118 and 116. Unfortunately, he spent most of the game against the Roos running up and down the wing and managed a disappointing 89.

TOM STEWART

GEELONG

DEF, $795,000

u The star Cat was tagged by the Saints, with disastrous results. He was sitting on a score of just four at half-time before limping to 46 from 18 possessions and two marks. He will repay the faith in the last two weeks against the Suns and Eagles.

ALSO CONSIDER:

Marcus Bontempelli, Sam Walsh, Adam Treloar.

ROY

DESTROY

BRAYDON PREUSS

GWS GIANTS

RUC, $629,000

u There is always concern as soon as the big fella takes the park, but given he hasn’t scored below 85 in a completed game this season, he should have been serviceable against the Bombers. After a shocking first half, he finished with 60 points.

CONNOR ROZEE

PORT ADELAIDE

FWD/MID, $782,000

u Was tracking well for his fifth triple-figure score in a row before injuring his knee in the second quarter. Struggled to have an impact on the game in the second half.

BEN KEAYS

ADELAIDE CROWS

MID, $807,000

u Has had a significant role change and it is disastrous for his scoring. Has played the past two weeks predominantly as a defensive forward. Against the Eagles last week, he returned his worst score for the year of just 45 from 14 possessions, three marks and three tackles.

Nick Vlastuin, Daniel Rich, Darcy Cameron.
