OCC Services WA is providing recruitment support for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

OCC Services WA is leading the way with recruitment and job readiness support within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Western Australia.

The team have been working collaboratively with local Aboriginal Noongar elders, McGovern Foundation and Alliance networks, which aim to provide a supportive and sustainable employment model that truly demonstrates the long-term value of employing Aboriginal and other under-represented members of our society.

The engagement approach benefits the individuals, families, as well as the employing entity, and truly values a step change in opportunities for those we represent.

The employment model works with each candidate to ensure they are personally established, ready for work opportunities, and willing to grow their commitment to themselves and their future employers.

The program, which is in the start-up phase, has three key pillars of success which include being Work Ready – setting and building personal foundations; Job Ready – establishing personal management and job skills and; Life Ready – committing to the long-term growth and success.

Candidates will undertake a minimum 12-month commitment to this employment model.

OCC Services WA and the Alliance network have taken a holistic approach that builds and nurtures skills to ensure desire and motivation remains high. Designed to introduce progressive steps and a natural pace within this 12-month period, the program will cover all aspects of Cultural Capability.
