LONG LIVE THE KING

GIANTS STADIUM, MAY 21, 2023

u St Kilda spearhead Max King had spent the first nine rounds on the sidelines as he recovered from an off-season shoulder reconstruction, followed by a hamstring injury. But you wouldn’t have known if you’d been living under a rock for the past two months. King did not skip a beat in his return as the Saints overwhelmed GWS to bank their seventh win in 10 rounds. He took eight marks and booted four goals in 85 per cent game-time, giving his team a target it had been sorely lacking despite its impressive form. Look out Hawthorn (and all others in the Saints’ way)!
