Wellbeing Hub CIC (MWH) launched
their monthly ‘Bee Well’ drop-in sessions. These sessions, held at Calum’s Kitchen in
Moray Sports Centre Elgin the first Monday of
every month 9:30am – 11:30am, provide a safe space for the community of Moray to meet up for connection, sharing and wellbeing support.
Conversations on the day flowed from the light-hearted to the more meaningful. Smiles and connection grew as the Champions from MWH provided their natural peersupport.
"Such a friendly atmosphere. Chris made me feel very welcome. I'm going to bring my neighbour along next time."
As well as tackling isolation and stigma associated with mental health challenges, the sessions try to explore
themed conversation topics such as - what could be improved around suicide prevention in Moray? The key points of which will now be shared with local decision makers to create change.
“I feel at peace, I am glad I came. Made me feel worthy and useful. With a bit of a purpose.”
The space and refreshments were kindly donated by Calum’s Kitchen proprietor Calum Main, with his delicious snacks and cakes available to purchase with no obligation to do so. The hope is that sessions will have many more people popping by, gaining confidence in meeting in the community once more and maybe coming along to new groups or making new friends.
"It was so good to sit and chat. I realised how much I had missed this."
"Thank you! I really enjoyed my coffee and there was a nice buzz. Very welcoming."
