I write in support of Jeff Yoon with complete confidence and pleasure. Jeff just completed Architecture 101, a course I helped instruct with Prof. Mark Anderson this fall. The semester was spent working on a design and build project with the Cal Sailing Club, a non-profit sailing organization operating out of Berkeley Marina. The project addressed a wide range of issues including working with a client, understand the permitting process, working with engineers and designing a building that could be built almost entirely with student labor. Additionally, the students had the added complexity of having to work as a team in order to fulfill these tasks over the course of the semester. Jeff established himself early on a one of th hardest working students in the class, a designation what was not easily given amongst a group of high achieving, motivated seniors. Over the course of the semester, Jeff continued to pursue the class project with intelligence, curiosity and vigor. He worked well with his classmates and added a great deal to the ideological and practical discourses of the studio with his strong grasp of the issues and ability to communicate through both drawing and modeling.
