The Danube is a river of superlatives with amazing sights along its banks. On this cruise enjoy an immersive experience of Southern Hungary. Step ashore in the cosmopolitan city of Vienna, followed by its ‘twin city’ Bratislava and the two faces of Budapest, named ‘Queen of the Danube’ for good reason. While many other one-week Danube trips would then return to Budapest, we venture onwards through the untouched Pustza Valley countryside of southern Hungary to Mohács. From here you will visit the city of Pécs, deservedly awarded the title 2010 European Capital of Culture.

1 Passau Hotel Stay.

2 Passau - 17:00 Embarkation from 15:00 to 16:00.

3 Ybbs 06:00 12:00 Visit to Maria Taferl, one of Lower Austria’s most famous pilgrimage sites and its impressive basilica or the impressive Ybbs-Persenbeug hydroelectric power station. Cruise through the UNESCO World Heritage region of Wachau.

Vienna 20:00 - Excursion to a traditional Vienna wine bar. or evening excursion to the famous Vienna Prater amusement park and a ride on one of Vienna’s most famous landmarks, the big wheel.

4 Vienna - 19:00 Tour of the tradition-steeped Danube city of Vienna, including St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hofburg and Ringstraße. Afterwards, there will be time to explore the city yourself. Excursion to the delightful Biedermeier city of Baden. or a cycle tour of Vienna. or take in the city sights from the air in an exclusive helicopter tour.

5 Budapest 12:00 - Tour of Budapest and its impressive architecture. Night tour of Budapest with Hungarian music. or a trip on the Riverride bus.

6 Budapest - 14:00 Puszta experience tour with traditional horsemanship demonstration. or “Budapest Impressions” walking tour and a trip on the oldest underground railway in Europe. or a cycle tour of Budapest.

7 Bratislava 08:00 14:00 Tour of Bratislava’s lovingly restored historical alleyways and a trip to the castle, the city’s landmark. Afterwards there will be time to explore the city yourself.

8 Melk 07:30 13:30 Visit to the impressive Melk Benedictine Monastery.

9 Passau 07:30 - Disembarkation by approx. 09:30.
