This day will include serving at the Children’s Hunger Fund food pak event, worship, our Pig-nic potluck, baptisms, and our Annual Business Meeting. Food pak shifts are at 9:00 and 10:45 at West, worship on both campuses is at normal times, and the Pig-nic is at 1:00 at West followed by baptisms at 2:30 and the annual meeting at 4:00. Four important proposals will be voted on at the meeting: nominees to the Executive Council and Nominating Committee, our budget, and our Ministry Expansion Project. CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES is taking a break the last 2 weekends in August and the first weekend in September in order to give our servants a rest and to prepare ministry and classrooms for the Fall. Child Care will be provided for children through age 36 months during all worship services.
SERVE OUR LOCAL WORLD by serving in Children’s Ministries at FBCG. We invite adults and youth 5th grade and older to help us “Grow God’s Kingdom” this ministry year. Stop by the kiosk next to our CASTLE in the lobby to look at needs, pick up a job description or express your interest in ministering to God’s precious little ones. JOYFUL NOISE & K’S PRAISE will not be meeting this year. A new performing arts program called Elevate will launch this Fall. NEW Elevate Youth Performing Arts Ministry: students, grades 2-12 interested in being on or off stage. No experience necessary! We will perform a Christmas musical and a spring production. Missionary of the Week: Josh and Allie Johnson, CRU at Arizona State University; The Johnsons moved to Arizona over the summer and Josh is director of the new CRU ministry at ASU. PRAY for activities this week as CRU presents CHRIST to this huge university. Pray that the HOLY SPIRIT will give love and unity to the staff as they begin work together and that the students will be drawn to the message CRU proclaims. Pray that Satanic forces that would hinder this work will be banished. Pray for the Johnson family to keep right priorities in this busy work and be a model of a loving Christian family to the campus.
