The best part of my job at Travel and Hospitality has got to be watching the outstanding work of my trade colleagues honored at our Travel and Hospitality Awards Ceremony. Due to that reason this awards special issue is very close to my heart. For those select few of our readers who may not be aware last month we had the honor of hosting the third edition of the Travel and Hospitality (TnH) Awards and the event was a roaring success. Consequently, I think this volume is a fitting platform to share why I am such a big fan of our travel awards. Frankly, there are several reasons big and small that I experience, as the organizer of the event, that make it memorable but I will share some of the significant ones that you all can appreciate. First and foremost, awards reveal the trends and tastes of the industry in a condensed form. Moreover, for better or for worse awards reflect what the travel industry is all about- allure, marketing, hobnobbing, exposure and entertainment. But most importantly I love awards because they highlight great work and acknowledge the people and companies that inspire and advance the travel & tourism sector. So, the pages of this issue put spotlight on the best practices by a spectrum of individuals and businesses that range from up-and-coming innovators in the tourism marketplace to blue-chip companies that form the bedrock of the Indian travel sector.
