The cities then use this data to improve infrastructure, energy consumption, public utilities and more. Lighting is considered as the first and most widely adopted smart city application. It has been deployed at scale with over 13 Million intelligent street lights operational globally. Using luminaires as a platform for adding intelligence for smart city applications has long well proven itself effective and able to deliver a real return on investment. The smart city depends upon infrastructure to support the sensors and the street lighting poles provide the perfect location for this.
LIGHTING CONTROL EQUIPMENT
LIGMAN works with its partners to deliver control and monitoring solutions to meet customer requirements. There are a number of options available when it comes to selecting a lighting control system or future-proofing poles and luminaires for when a system is required at a later date.
The LIGHTCONNECT™ capable range of luminaires and poles from LIGMAN are equipped with Nema 7 and/or Zhaga Book 18 (Up) and (Down) sockets, making the device smart and ready-to-connect to any device or control system protocol.

The addition of an ANSI C136.41 standard NEMA 7 socket allows for dimming and control to be added to the luminaire. Dimming can be either ON-OFF, 0-10, or DALI.
The Zhaga Book 18 Ed. 2.0 socket provides the interface for local control of the luminaire when combined with a photocell or standalone dimming device.

Having collected the data it is vital to be able to analyse and display this data for the benefit of the city and its citizens.
Cities are evolving into much greener and pedestrian friendly environments and as such Electric Vehicles are much more common the need to incorporate the facilities to charge these vehicles without increasing street clutter is very important. LIGMAN poles can have EV charging points installed on them to reduce this clutter.
DIGITAL SIGNAGE can be used to keep citizens informed or as a means of revenue generation through advertising.

LIGHTING CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR LARGE AREAS
When considering a smart lighting control system for a large scalable project that can handle a high quantity of luminaires without any issues –Zigbee 2.4GHz can reliably perform in applications requiring both high volumes and long distances for sending and receiving signals.
For this reason, we recommend Telensa or e-Save Lighting Control Systems for applications requiring this level of quantity and sophistication.

What can we offer as a service?
Telensa can control up to a maximum of 5,000 node control/1 gateway in distance 16 km. from the gateway to the node.

REAL WORLD APPLICATION: DAVAO GLOBAL TOWNSHIP
Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (CLI) a major property development company in the Philippines, are transforming the existing Matina Davao Golf Course into the Davao Global Township (DGT) – a vibrant new business district which is to include a corporate centre, two premier residential towers, a retail strip with cineplex, outdoor retail spaces, and a civic centre.
DGT is the first township development of Cebu Landmasters in partnership with Davao’s Villa-Abrille clan under the joint venture YHEST Realty and Development Corporation.
The street lighting master plan for the development opted for LIGMAN BILLUND 1 street and area luminaires throughout. Mounted on 8m poles with 1m outreach, every individual luminaire is fitted with a Telensa Lighting Control System.

There is no limit to the Internet of Things (IoT) and the ways in which physical objects can be fitted with sensors, software, and technology that enables them to connect to one another and exchange data. LIGMAN continues to develop new devices for use with the L-COLUMN multi-function smart lighting column. Some of the recent additions include an air quality detector for monitoring temperature and humidity, energy monitoring solutions for power saving, an LED beacon and an intercom for contacting emergency services and signalling the location of the call. WiFi antennas to service the local area and motion sensors which can monitor crowd numbers and interact with other devices, for example activating security cameras or increasing light levels.

As more devices are included in a smart pole solution, more software packages are required for the efficient control and operation of each device.
FindFace multi-software is available to best utilise the potential of the security cameras and license plate detector. Taking advantage of AI technology to record and identify faces, bodies and vehicles for improved safety and security where the software is implemented.
Software – Face, Body, Vehicle detection
Advancements in AI-powered technology has enabled video processing software to recognise human faces, bodies and movements, in addition to vehicles and number plates, with incredible speed and accuracy. The latest generation of LIGMAN’s configurable smart lighting column system L-COLUMN can now incorporate this breakthrough technology using FindFace Multi software.
FindFace Multi is a multifunctional multi-object video analytics software which showcases the following features:
Person detection and identification in photos and videos
Face detection even in low-quality video or in challenging conditions (poor lighting, a long distance from a camera, etc.)
Integrated 2D anti-spoofing technology to ensure a live person is present, eliminating possibility of fake images on paper or mobile screens
Instantly find the right person among multiple images or check that two images are of the same person
Recognition of additional features such as gender, age, emotions, glasses, beard, face mask
Counting people, tracking movement between cameras, and search by body sample or body features
Tracking body location
Vehicle and license plate detection on video
Vehicle features recognition for vehicle brand, model, colour, and body type recognition
Cross-camera identification
Smart car checkpoints, tracking cars within the city or the facility territory
Revealing and analysing the connection between the human and the vehicle identification
In addition to the above standard features, it is possible to create a database of faces for Internal, External, or Suspected persons within the software which includes details such as age, shape, clothing (for example shirt and pant colour), and transparent mask. It is then possible to perform a reverse search through recorded footage depending on the size of the database.
This feature can also be applied to cars by creating a database of frequent or suspected vehicle groups in the software, including details such as brand, model and colour.
The software has the capability to import video from other sources for analysis through the software for storage of faces, bodies, and vehicle information in the database.
