University while Duncan, an Old Millfieldian, was a PR account manager at Freud Communications before the opening of their first nightclub Kitts, based under the Sloane Square Hotel. They decided to open Cocobananas adjacent to one of their earlier successes, Bunga Bunga. Upstairs a Caipirinha bar will feature a generous menu of Brazilian cocktails concocted by a creative team who will serve everything from ‘Da Cabana’, served in a vessel modelled on a Brazilian beach shack, and filled with a heady mix of Leblon cachaça, Cherry Marnier, Cointreau, Lime, Passion fruit, Apple and Pomegranate juice, and topped with 7up, to the, ‘Bum Bum’, a lower body of a Brazilian beauty proudly sporting one of the country’s famous string bikinis, and bursting with Passoa, Mount Gay Rum, St Germain, Martini Extra Dry, Lime juice, Apple juice and Cinnamon syrup. But it’s not all about the drinks and décor. Club-goers can expect to be served by men in surf shorts and women in bikinis.

If that’s not enough to make your eyes pop, there will be performances from Capoeira dancers and girls from Ipanema to tickle your toes. Cocobananas aims to impress on all levels, and the foodies out there can sample hearty Brazilian street food like Empadinh, pastry parcels stuffed with chicken and spices or Kibe, croquets of beef or fish along with Latin-inspired pizzas. Guests can also enjoy refreshingly fruity Caipirinha ice-pops as the tempo rises. Cocobananas is set to open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10.30pm to 2.30am. Follow us @SW_Londoner
