Wild Animal Rescue Program ABOUT THE PROGRAM The Center for Rescue and Conservation of Species was established in 2005 to create a sanctuary for wildlife rescued from illegal trades and illegal hunting. We work hard to care for the animals (including bears, gibbons, loris, and more) and when possible, rehabilitate and release them back into the wild. Every year, our center receives hundreds of wild animals including endangered species.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS 16 years or older, in good health and used to a moderate level of physical work; Love nature and wildlife; Have certificates of immunization for some diseases such as hepatitis (A, B), tetanus, Japanese encephalitis, malaria, tuberculosis, rabies; Have health and travel insurance; Assume legal responsibility for your own participation.
Feed animals at the sanctuary; clean cages and work areas;
YOUR DUTIES
Maintain habitats including toys, shelters, interactive feeders; learn about enrichment for captive wildlife to help reduce stress as much as possible; Track animal behaviors and assess effectiveness of these methods; Help veterinarians check and treat animals;
Help release wildlife back to natural habitat (if available).
WORKING TIME
WORKPLACE AND ACCOMMODATION
Staff work from 7:30-11:30 and 13:30-16:30 each day, M-F. You will arrange your schedule with the manager depending on your situation. During your time off, you can explore the Park.
You will work at the Center for Rescue and Conservation of Species; Accommodation and meals are provided by the Park. Your fees help cover these costs.
Program fees help cover your housing and meals, and help to support the Center. You will have a private room and meals will be provided at the staff cafeteria. Remaining funds are used to upgrade infrastructure at the Center, and to buy food and medicine for the animals. We are committed to directly spending the entire amount paid to conservation. 2 English Teaching ABOUT THE PROGRAM Every year, Cat Tien National Park welcomes thousands of foreign visitors, including tourists and researchers. Our staff needs to help foreigners understand the biodiversity and conservation efforts in the Park, so we need your help to improve our English speaking skills.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS 18 years or older, have a good health and physical fitness; Prefer native speakers or people with good English proficiency; Submit your volunteer application and resume;
Have certificates of immunization for some diseases such as hepatitis (A, B), tetanus, Japanese encephalitis, malaria, tuberculosis, rabies; Have health and travel insurance; Assume legal responsibility for your own participation.
YOUR DUTIES
Prepare lectures which are suitable for students’ levels;
Teach in official class with classified groups;
Tutor key staff members by joining their work and show them how to speak in English (one by one);
WORKING TIME You can work as much as possible, after setting a schedule with your manager. Teaching time will start in the afternoon from 12:00 – 14:00 and in the evening from 19:00 – 21:00, at least 3 days per week. The rest of the time you can enjoy nature or participate in other activities in Cat Tien National Park.
WORKPLACE AND ACCOMMODATION You will work at the Center for Rescue and Conservation of Species. Accommodation and meals are provided at the Park.
In the free time, you can work at rescue center, for example, enriching animal habitats, tracking animal behaviors assessing the suitability of this work, helping the veterinarians check and treat them;
Participate in releasing wildlife back to natural habitat activity (if available).
FEE This program is free for volunteers. We paid all expenses (include housing and meals) for you during program at the same rate of employees working there. You will have a private room, as well as nutritious and hygienic meals served at the staff restaurant in the Park.
3 Conservation Education ABOUT THE PROGRAM Most students in Vietnam do not have a chance to learn about wildlife. Schools have not yet included conservation as a classroom topic or extracurricular activity. We need you to join us in teaching local children about conservation in Vietnam. You will be trained with our experts at first, and then you can lead students yourself once you understand the goals. In addition to supporting local schools, you will make presentations to Park visitors (including tourists and researchers). This is a wonderful way to get to know the park and the local community.

Design and organize a wildlife conservation education program, nature discoveries for students, teachers, visitors, and organizations; Compile and publish documents related to nature conservation, forest protection and wildlife protection; Design and organize campus programs, “forest school� that are suitable for students, families and companies; Guide visitors at the Center for Rescue and Conservation of Species; This work can be combined with English teaching or working at the Rescue Center.

and Fundraising 4 Communication for Sponsorship Program ABOUT THE PROGRAM We want to increase Vietnamese people’s awareness of the urgency of protecting nature and wildlife before they become extinct. We want to change the attitude and behavior of the public. We also encourage people in Vietnam to have environmentally friendly lifestyle through social forums (Zalo, Facebook, Website…). By participating in this program, you will help us design posters, banners, brochures, video clips, images to spread the message of protecting wildlife and the environment. In addition, you will formulate programs, projects, and letters to raise fund from individuals, organizations both at home and abroad for the conservation and rescue of wild animals.

FURTHER INFORMATION Cat Tien National Park Head Quarters is located in Nam Cat Tien Commune, Tan Phu District, Dong Nai Province, about 150 km north of Ho Chi Minh City. It takes 3-4 hours by car, and prices ranges from 100,000 – 1,800,000 VND (5-80 USD) depending on the means you choose. (Passenger cars: 100,000 – 150,000 VND; taxi: 1,500,000 – 1,800,000 VND). We can arrange transportation for you.
