LILIANA PALHINHA

The affinity for Landscape Architecture started during the childhood by the strong interest for nature and construction. Self-motivated, hard worker with excellent interpersonal skills, recently formed in Landscape Architecture by University of Évora, Liliana is ready to do the next step. During the academic experience, Liliana had the opportunity to deal with the professional world through internships in two different councils, what gave her more consistence, confidence and enthusiasm for this role. Once Landscape Architecture is a field based in a prosperity principle, creating the future considering always the past and the present, she believes that this field can make a sustainable world ensuring a better quality of life.

REQUALIFICATION PROJECT WITH THREE MAIN OBJECTIVES: (I)

CONNECTION WITH THE GREEN STRUCTURE; (II) PROVIDE CONTACT WITH THE SURROUNDINGS AND ACCESSIBILITY FOR PEDESTRIANS, CYCLISTS AND DRIVERS; (III) RESPECT THE TOPOGRAPHY.

THE SITE WORKS AS A CONNECTION BETWEEN TWO DISTINCT AREAS, A RESIDENCIAL AND AN INDUSTRIAL, PROVIDING ACESSIBILITIES AND DIDACTIC ACTIVITIES.

BECAUSE OF THE PECULIAR TOPOGRAPHIC FEATURES, IT WAS POSSIBLE TO CREATE AREAS WHERE THERE IS AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ENVIRONMENT AND AT THE SAME TIME AREAS WHERE THERE IS VISUAL CONTACT WITH THE HISTORIC CENTER OF THE CITY.

TOPOGRAPHY

THIS PROPOSAL OFFER A SEVERAL TYPES OF CONNECTIONS WITH THE SURROUDING AREAS. THOSE CONNECTIONS CAN BE WALKED, DROVE AND CICLED BETWEEN THE NEIGHBORHOODS, THE COMERCIAL AREA AND THE GREEN AREAS AROUND IT.

03 URBAN GREEN STRUCTURE

THIS PROJECT HAS A MAIN PURPOSE THE VALORIZATION OF THE LANDSCAPE AND THE ENVIRONMENT ON THE NORTHWEST ÉVORA CITY SECTOR. AFTER A DETAILED ANALYSIS, THE PROPOSAL WAS BASED IN AN ECOLOGICAL STRUCTURE THAT CAME UP FROM THE RURAL AREA, WHAT CREATES A COHERENT AND CONTINUOUS STRUCTURE IN THE ROADS OF THE URBAN SECTOR, IN ORDER TO PROTECT AND INTEGRATE THE BIOPHYSICAL, CULTURAL, RECREATIONAL AND LANDSCAPE ELEMENTS OF THE TERRITORY CONVERGING TO A SUSTAINABLE IDEAL.

A PART FROM THE FUNCTIONAL ADVANTAGES, THIS CHANGE WILL ALSO BRING LOWER MAINTENANCE COSTS AND LABOR BENEFITS.

THIS SPECIES ARE NOT HEALTHY, EVEN THOUGHT THEY STILL KEEP STANDING SO DOESN’T MAKE SENSE TO REMOVE THEM, BUT THEY NEED SPECIAL ATENTION.

THIS SPECIES COULDN’T DEVELOPED PROPERLY, BECAUSE OF THE POOR SOIL CONDITIONS.

IT IS PROPOSED A RISE OF THE PLANTING AREA WITH GRID COVER. THE INTENTION IS THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONDITIONS OF THE SOIL, MAKING THE WATER INFILTRATION EASIER.
