In this major, you will focus on four central areas of the profession: relationship building, advocacy, ethics, and communication. This will help you acquire the skills to develop PR campaigns, manage media relations, and develop and maintain a positive public image for organizations, helping strengthen current and future external relationships.
Graduates of this major will be well sought-after in the field. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of public relations specialists is expected to grow 24% by 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations.
