White-collar crime often doesn’t leave obvious clues, which makes it easy to miss and hard to prosecute. Through Franklin’s B.S. in Business Forensics, you will develop the skills to identify, resolve, and prevent fraudulent activity in a variety of business settings. The foundation of this unique major is comprised of two components: litigation services and investigative services. The strong forensics curriculum builds upon a core of business and accounting principles to increase your awareness of existing and emerging issues, such as business corruption, fraudulent billing schemes, and financial misstatements.
You will focus on behavioral science to discover the motivations for a breach of integrity and learn how to identify questionable business practices, communicate fraud findings to a variety of audiences, and implement preventative measures to ensure corporate transparency. In addition, this major provides you with foundational knowledge necessary to earn professional certifications, including the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
