ABOUT ME.
Welcome to my portfolio, where I showcase my best fashion design projects. My name is Lillian Tan, and ever since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. I would spend my time drawing and being creative both in class and at home. I have recently graduated from Koning Willem 1 College in Den Bosch as a fashion designer, and I have further refined my skills at AMFI. Throughout my journey, I have acquired expertise in various areas such as technical drawing, patternmaking, sewing, CAD, conceptualizing, and illustrating. Now, I’m doing the minor 3D Hypercraft to develop my CAD skills. However, I am always eager to learn more and to do the things I love.

How do we get the chance to create change for the future in a positive way with the use of technology? In my collection a symbol of this progression is: the light. Movement, energy and geometric shapes are important principles in my collection.
With the use of durable fabrics, I developed a digital print.

Combining the Dutch and Chinese cultureBALENCIAGA project
For this project, my inspiration comes from cultural art, with a particular focus on the work of artist Zeng Fanzhi. I have designed a menswear collection for the couture house Balenciaga, with the goal of telling stories, inspiring, promoting unity, celebrating cultural differences, and highlighting traditional material manipulation techniques.
Fabric manipulationJEANS project
By going back to my Chinese heritage, I have incorporated handpainted dragons and handcrafted flames into the design of the jeans.
For my final collection at KW1C, I drew inspiration from the futurism of modern architecture and incorporated geometrical shapes into my designs.

DIGITAL FASHION.
DIGITAL FASHION.
With the use of the digital program Clo3D, I could make realistic-looking garments and visualize how they would fit and move on a model before even creating a physical prototype. This way, I am free to be creative.
