INTERVIEW WITH

TYRA PICKETT

Please introduce yourself to our readers: Hi, my name is Tyra Pickett and I’m the Founder and CEO of Pickett Fence Virtual Services which is an online business management firm. I’m a Certified Online Business Manager and I partner with 6 and 7 figure Professional Coaches and Construction businesses who are ready to scale their business and take it to the next level by providing Online Business Management support in their business. I specialize in automation, creating and implementing systems in your business that will allow it to run smoothly and efficiently, setting up SOP’s and streamlining processes in your business that will allow you to scale and grow, and project management. I’m also a Virtual Assistant Coach and Mentor for ambitious women entrepreneurs and the Founder of The Profitable VA™. Because I’ve been so blessed in my business, I now use my experiences, wisdom, and expertise to help other women around the world make their dreams a reality by teaching them how to launch, grow, and uplevel their virtual assistant business. I’ve created courses, training, and coaching programs, along with my signature course, The Profitable VA Bootcamp which helps other women launch and grow their own virtual assistant business from scratch and create their dream life. I also have a Podcast called The Profitable Virtual Assistant Podcast with Tyra Pickett. What inspired you to pursue this area of interest? My kids are my “why”. I’ve always had that entrepreneurial bone ever since I was 18 but didn’t know what to do with it. Throughout the years I tried so many different work-from-home things in the pursuit of being my own boss but many of them were scams, didn’t make enough money or I was giving a percentage of my earnings away. I kinda pushed my passion to the back burner and pursued my corporate career because I thought it was the “norm” and what was expected of me. But in 2015, everything changed! After getting married and becoming a military spouse, blending a new family, quitting my corporate job, moving to a new state, and giving birth to my 2nd child, I knew that I wanted to be home with her and be completely present for my kids and family; I wanted the freedom and flexibility to be there for them for any and everything. My entrepreneurial passion kicked back in and I knew then that I needed to truly start my own business, no exceptions. I took my 20+ years’ experience in the corporate world and 12+ years of experience in the Construction industry and started my own virtual business supporting small business owners with administrative and technical work. I later became a Certified OBM, relaunched my business into an online business management firm, and started coaching and teaching other women entrepreneurs how to do the same. After all of these years of searching, I finally found my purpose here on earth and that is to teach, nurture and serve. Being able to help transform lives in a positive way and seeing the difference that I’ve made in my clients’ businesses and lives is such a rewarding and satisfying feeling. I want to build a legacy for my kids and give them the life that I always wanted. I’m working on raising trust fund kids without the “entitlement”. Building generational wealth… now that’s sexy! I want to show them that there's more to life and they can be whatever they want to be if they put their mind and hard work into it. I want them to know that they can be their own boss, live life on their own terms, and make a positive impact on the lives they touch. What 2 tips would you share with readers who desire to be successful in your industry? Figure out what it is that you truly love to do and go for it. We all have a superpower and a purpose in life and one of the greatest joys is learning what that is. Once you discover what that is, go all in. God has already given us a vision and has equipped us with everything we need to make it happen. If you’re afraid to go for it, do it afraid, but do it. Life is way too short to look back and wonder “what if”. One of the biggest questions I hear from aspiring entrepreneurs is, “What if I fail?”. But if you don’t try, then you’ve already failed. So there’s nowhere to go but up. Every successful entrepreneur had to start from the beginning to get to where they are now. We all have to start somewhere. The key is to simply start. The second tip I would give is to not give up. There are times when you feel like throwing in the towel and giving up but you keep going. You have to have thick skin. You have to have a strong enough “why” to get you through those moments when you feel like giving up. Running a business is not for the weak. You have to push past the fears and doubt and know that you will come out on top in the end. Trust the process and know that God has made a clear path for your abundance. Going through the motions is just part of the journey. There will be highs and lows but never give up. What is next for you in 2021 and how can readers connect with you online? What's next for me is wherever God wants me to be. I've come this far by faith and hard work, so I know my future is gonna be extraordinary. My goal is to hit my first 6 figure cash year and transform at least 100 more women's lives by the end of 2021. I have so many exciting things in the works for this year, so stay tuned. I'm just getting started! DOROTHY WILSON INTERVIEW WITH

Please introduce yourself to readers: As a young girl, I watched my mother live through hell as she was regularly and repeatedly attacked by a raging alcoholic. I felt helpless to do anything. As I grew into my young adult years, I realized what a smart, talented, and wonderful person my mom was, always wearing a smile no matter what — but never realizing her fullest potential. I could not help my mother, but I am on a mission to empower as many women as I can globally to be the highest and best version of themselves. I do that by creating platforms women can stand on to amplify their message and be heard and to elevate on to increase their influence and be seen. These platforms include magazines I publish; the Success Women's Conference I co-founded; the Business Success Accelerator program I coach; the online show, "I See You, I broadcast; and the small group leaders I mentor at my church. What makes you a visionary? I am blessed with a strategic, creative mind and never-give-up mindset that allows me to push past barriers and leap over hurdles. I am always looking at the bigger picture to see the possibility, not only in ideas and projects but also in people. How are your efforts helping to propel women forward? I am able to see the real potential in others and effectively communicate it to them and transform their mind-set to overcome negative thinking, past hurts, and limiting fears. My favorite quote is: "As a woman thinks, so is she."I am propelling women forward by pointing them to opportunities, and in some cases, even creating the opportunities they deserve. Instead of waiting on someone else to build platforms to grow their influence, I'm capable and willing to create them myself. An example of this: When I saw so many women deserving of recognition, but they didn't always hold the top positions in their companies or they owned very small businesses, I created an annual 100 Success Women To Know special section in one of my magazines so they could be highlighted. What is next for you in 2021? I'm very excited about the FaithInspiration Project, which will launch in April. It will feature 32 partners sharing their compelling stories of how they are Living Their Faith Out Loud. The project includes a book, "Live Your Faith Out Loud,", video series, blog posts, and a small group discussion guide. I wanted to create a unique project that would not only make non-writers published authors but also would have a global reach and impact thousands of lives. As a pray about this project, I shake on the inside because I can feel how significant it will be. How can readers connect with you online? INTERVIEW WITH

alice ilonga

"

“Doesn't matter your race, color or age your skin deserves what is best.”

Introduce yourself and brand: My name is Alice Ilonga, I'm a Congolese(DRC)-Canadian woman who grew up in Belgium, Germany and moved to Canada where I learned English and started my two businesses. Through those brands, I sell lingerie, swimsuits and makeup. What makes your brand unique? What makes my brands unique are that they focus on authenticity and inclusiveness. What 2 pieces of Entrepreneur advice would you share with readers? 1) Start today because making excuses won't help you start a business and it sure as hell won't help you create the lifestyle you want for yourself. 2) Launch before you feel ready because if you wait until your product or service feels perfect, someone else will already be doing a better job of helping your customers solve their problems. What is next for you? I'm planning to launch a wedding lingerie collection and new-mom collection with my Ilonga Alice brand. For my cosmetic brand, I will be introducing a perfume in collaboration with my two beautiful sisters. How can readers connect with you online and support your business? Readers can connect with me on Instagram: @ilongaalicebrand @ilongaalicecosmetic. My personal Instagram is @alice.ilonga and you can subscribe to my Youtube channel: Ilonga Alice!
