MODERN VS. VINTAGE
SPRING TRENDS 2018
ART & INTERIORS BY DE LUCA INTRODUCTION Interior design is the art and science of understanding people’s behavior to create functional spaces within a building. Decoration is the furnishing or adorning of a space with fashionable or beautiful things. In short, interior designers may decorate, but decorators do not design. Art is fast becoming recognised as an essential component of a modern home, with influencers and interior designers singing the praises of gallery walls and the like. If you speak to almost any interior designer about the importance of art in the home, you’ll be met with a resounding, excited flurry about the inspiration it provides, the way it lifts a space, or the joy that comes with sourcing works from around the world. However, this is not the full extent to the intermingling of the art and interiors industries. For homeowners, interior and product designers alike, art is paramount, powerful and primary. Homes and interiors brands are also embracing the consumer’s urge to fill their homes with art by working closely with artists and galleries on collaborations, or taking it into their own hands to create branded artworks.

STYLISH Dar Si Said Museum
The Dar Si Said Museum is the oldest museum in the city with the greatest number of works of art exhibited. The Museum is officially called the Museum of Moroccan Arts. Like other palaces in Marrakech, Dar Si Said was originally residence of one of Morocco’s chief executives. In this case, it was the former house of Si Said, brother of the grand vizier of Marrakech, Bou Ahmed. The palace is enormous with several patios and with two floors. The building’s most beautiful decoration is found at the entrance of the courtyard and on the second floor. A museum that could be confused with a palace of treasures, this superb repository containing an assemblage of Moroccan antique decorative arts and handcrafted items ranging from clothing, copper, Berber jewelry, carpets, furniture, and building materials, many still used in the remote regions of the country. EXCLUSIVE TOUR OF YOUNES BENJ’S MORROCAN’S FAMOUS ART MUSEUM AND HOME Noureddine Daifallah Daifalah uses contemporary art with traditional Arabic calligraphy creating an electrifying blend of old and new in his work. His works are mysteriously untitled allowing the imagination free range amongst the lines and colours of his paintings. The delicate patterns of blood red and the smudges of burnt gold amongst the confident bold lines of lettering create a surface of unfathomable depth, like a trickle of water glittering at the bottom of a deadly ravine.

Hands up who watched a Netflix marathon this week? The truth is we shouldn’t feel guilty, either it’s rainy or we’re having a bit of me-time, watching tv while cocooned on the lounge is exactly what we need sometimes. The reality is that the TV for many of us is the focal point of our living room.

THE BEAUTY OF HOW EXQUISITE ART MEETS INTERIOR A home’s interior design is defined by its details. Of course, the furniture, color, and layout of every room must be cohesive and logical, but the smaller, often-overlooked facets of design; including the selection of art are what really make a home unique and vibrant. Considering the walls of your residence as mere frames and dividing lines can lead to missed opportunities. While not every wall needs to be a gallery showcase, a piece of art that brings out certain shades and colors can utterly transform rather than simply decorate a room.

THE BEAUTY OF HOW EXQUISITE ART MEETS INTERIOR
ARTIST STATEMENT My work is underpinned by a contemplative connection to the unfathomable mystery and mystic beauty of nature. The amazing places I’ve been to, and all my struggles and experiences constantly reinvent myself as an artist. Crossing a wide spectrum of styles, from impressionism, cubism, fauvism, spiritual and contemporary, and visibly juxtaposing key elements from each cultural tradition, way of life and faith to which I belong, I create works which have resonance to our shared core humanity, nostalgia, sentiments and the influence of nature in our well-being. I always strive for simplicity in my body of work which are visually rejuvenating and harness the power of imagination. I purely depend on my imagination rather than being logical. It is imagination, I believe, that takes us somewhere. I have always believed that as a human being, our brain has an innate power to create, which through our years of maturity, ends up in bondage to our fixed mindsets. My work is meant to encourage you to unleash that power through imagination. Imagination leads to an idea, and the very existence of an idea in your mind means that you have within you and around you the capacity to turn it into reality. It is a wonderful experience.

APARTMENT PERFECT FOR TWO- INTERIOR INSIGHTS
VINTAGE Vintage interior designs appeal to a unique lot who may find their penchant for old eclectic pieces unappreciated by others. Well-designed vintage homes have idiosyncratic charms that bring their guests on a walk through history as they embrace (or attempt to embrace) the coarse wrinkled leather and chipped edges of wellworn furniture with minimal refurbishment or touching up.
MODERN

modern vs.vintage
Modern interior designs are often confused with contemporary styles. Although they have overlapping characteristics, modern designs refer to an era-specific (1920s-1950s) design style, often termed mid-century modern. On the other hand, contemporary designs are dynamic and constantly change with the current trends.
APARTMENT PERFECT FOR TWO- INTERIOR INSIGHTS
Having a small apartment can be a drag when it comes to implementing the desired interior design idea. Here is an example of a two-room apartment which is both very aesthetic and functional. So how did they do it?As you can see, the home plan features a hallway, two rooms (left and right), a kitchen and a bathroom. In order to achieve a high level of practicability, the designers took advantage of every single corner of the house. The hallway(the area with the red wallpaper) is welcoming and also has some integrated furniture elements such as a small table and an armchair. This turns it into a room on its own. The sense of space is given by the white and tall walls. The living room is modern and features a cozy reading space near the window. There are plenty of inspirational ideas to chose from in the pictures below so take your time and find the suited ones for yourselves.
