OUR MISSION
The purpose of Limestone University Athletics is to support the overall mission, goals and objectives of the University by complementing the pursuit of academic excellence, cultural diversity, and gender equity with championship sports programs.
We are dedicated to providing the teaching and leadership that will enable our students to maximize both their individual and team’s athletic potential within the context of a liberal arts education, while also representing Limestone with character and integrity.
Limestone University believes that successful intercollegiate athletics teams serve to build a sense of spirit and community on campus and are a source of institutional pride for their peers as well as the institutional alumni both close to home and abroad.
We are committed to the guiding principles of the South Atlantic Conference and Conference Carolinas including: presidential control of athletics, the cultivation of the ideal of the scholar-athlete and participation in a wide variety of sports. Commitment to the last principle assures that the college identifies with and supports, in a very evident way, gender equity.
The Athletics Department is also committed to the compliance of all university policies and regulations involved in Division II membership in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. As a member of the NCAA, Limestone also advocates student-athlete welfare, diversity, gender equity, sportsmanship, and ethical conduct in its athletic program.

The impact of Limestone athletics reaches far beyond the borders of our 125-acre campus. Limestone University is an economic powerhouse for the Cherokee County economy, and much of that impact is provided by the Saints athletic department that, with 23 teams, is one of the largest in NCAA Division II.

There are several areas where athletic facility improvements are desperately needed to keep our student-athletes safe, while enabling us to retain students and attract new ones.
With your support, Limestone University can continue to provide a winning experience for our student-athletes, our entire campus community, and all of Saints Nation.
Because of their athletic involvement, student-athletes tend to be more invested in Limestone. As a result, they are some of our absolute best in the classroom as well. For every football player, basketball player, or golfer we recruit, we are also enrolling a business major, a future educator, or a nurse.

CENTER FOR ATHLETIC EXCELLENCE Converting a portion of the Bob Campbell Field House into team meeting rooms, new office space, a tutoring center, and a much-needed visitors’ locker room.
HARDWOOD COURT Installation of a new hardwood court at the Timken Center that hosts men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, men’s wrestling, intramural sports, camps, and physical education classes.
SAINTS FIELD SEATING Expanded bleacher seating for Saints Field, home to six Limestone teams, including football, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, and field hockey. Improved seating also opens the door for Saints Field to host a variety of NCAA regional and national tournaments, athletic camps, and other large-scale events.
BASEBALL STADIUM SAFETY PADDING Equipping the outfield wall with safety padding at Founders FCU Stadium to better protect our student-athletes.
SOFTBALL FACILITY UPGRADES Providing numerous and much-needed improvements for our softball program’s Jimmy Martin Field, including more permanent dugout facilities.
NAMING OPPORTUNITIES Our “Championship Focus” campaign includes naming rights opportunities for all of the improvements listed above.
